Chapter 286 Misunderstanding Natalie is her mother.

Magnus not only heard from Hollis that she knew Ophe's mother, but also that Ophe's mother was wealthy and came from an extraordinary background.
Could it be that Ophe wasn't an abandoned orphan after all?
Magnus pressed on, "Hollis, have Ophe's parents contacted her? Where are they? What are their names? What do they do?"
Having had a previous experience, Magnus made it clear that if Ophe's parents did show up, he would assess their character first. If they were unsuitable, he wouldn't stand idly by.
Hollis hesitated, unsure of how to respond. "I misspoke. I don't know where Ophe's parents are," she finally said.
Magnus wasn't easily fooled. He might have been confused in front of his parents, but it wasn't so easy to deceive him.
He locked eyes with Hollis and said, "Hollis, both Ophe and I have grown up under your care. As you've probably seen, Ophe's situation has changed. If her family really does show up, it could be troublesome. I'm sure you don't want the orphanage to be in trouble either."
With this last sentence, Magnus was issuing a subtle warning.
Hollis naturally knew Ophe's current identity as the heiress of Abbott's Corporation. If she could win Ophe's favor, the orphanage would naturally benefit.
After weighing her options, Hollis forced a smile and said, "I seem to recall that someone did come looking for Ophe a couple of days ago. But I'm not sure if that person was Ophe's mother. She asked me if Ophe had a birthmark on her waist and also inquired about the time Ophe spent at the orphanage."
Magnus couldn't wait to ask, "Who was that person? Where does she live?"
"Her name is Natalie. I don't know where she lives or what she does, but she came in a luxury car and made a donation to the orphanage. She seemed well-off, and her background seemed extraordinary," Hollis said. "I promised Natalie to keep it a secret. Magnus, please don't spread this around. It's not confirmed yet, and it could lead to misunderstandings and unnecessary trouble."
"Natalie?" Magnus didn't know anyone by that name and had never seen her.
"Hollis, what does she look like? What else did she say?" If someone knew about Ophe's existence, it had to be someone close to Ophe or someone Ophe had met.
Hollis awkwardly replied, "She looks somewhat like Ophe, but she didn't say much. I suggested that Natalie and Ophe take a paternity test, but Natalie said she wasn't sure about that. This whole thing is still uncertain."
"Does she really want to acknowledge Ophe?" Magnus was most concerned about this.
Hollis said, "I think so. She said she had been searching for many years."
Magnus asked, "Do you have her contact information?"
Hollis hesitated and said, "Magnus, there are so many children in the orphanage. You have to consider them too."
The implication was that it wasn't convenient to give Magnus the contact information.
Magnus didn't press further. He was happy for Ophe that her parents had finally found her.
But he needed to find out who they really were.
What if they had ulterior motives for reconnecting with Ophe?
Magnus was now very cautious. He didn't immediately go to find Ophe. He wasn't sure if Ophe had a birthmark on her waist, so he needed to find an opportunity to ask.
Night fell.
Finnegan came back very late, almost dawn, and Ophe had already woken up.
"Why are you back so late?" Ophe asked, still half-asleep.
Finnegan said gently, "Go back to sleep. There's a lot of work at the company, and I have to go to the study room to handle some things. You don't have to wait for me."
In the afternoon, company secrets were leaked, causing significant losses to the company. Finnegan was now trying to find the mole and minimize the damage.
Ophe couldn't help much with the work. She lay back down and said, "Then you go ahead, but don't stay up too late."
"Okay."
Finnegan softly closed the door and went into the study room. He called his assistant, Atticus, and asked, "Have you found out where the problem occurred? Who else had access to that data report?"
"Finnegan, I checked the surveillance footage, and besides me and Linda, your father entered your office before you returned to the company in the morning."
Atticus was afraid as he spoke.
This statement directly placed suspicion on Jude.
