Chapter 756 Something Happened

Tate, Caspian, Susan, and even Lynn knew Ophelia was gone.

Caspian felt a lump in his throat. Since Susan hadn't told Finnegan, he didn't dare to either.

Tate touched the tombstone, not expecting their reunion to be like this.

The last time they met was in the prison visiting room. Tate thought they'd have time together once she got out.

Ophelia had been a big help to her.

Thinking of this, Tate's eyes welled up. All her close friends were gone—Ophelia, Aria...

"Did Ophelia leave any last words?" Tate asked. "Anything at all?"

Dylan replied, "Only Lily knows. She was the only one with Ophelia when she passed."

Seeing the tombstone confirmed Ophelia's death. Dylan had no reason to lie; it was just as Tate had feared.

Seeing that they needed a moment, Dylan stepped away.

Caspian looked at the tombstone and sighed, "It's hard to believe Ophelia's buried here. She gave everyone hope, even if it meant dying far from home."

Without a body or news of death, there was always a sliver of hope. Ophelia had thought of Finnegan and everyone who loved her until the end.

Caspian's voice choked up. He felt so sad he had to look away to calm down.

Susan went home to rest. However, she was too upset to eat, and just lay there in bed.

Lily, who was taking care of Susan, brought her some chicken soup. "At least have a little."

Susan clutched her chest, shaking her head. "I can't."

Lily sat by the bed, unsure how to comfort her.

Thinking about Ophelia made Susan feel worse. "She was so young, such a pity. Lily, I feel like Ophelia is still here."

It was always hard to accept when someone close passed away.

"She'll always be in our hearts," Lily said. "Susan, please drink a little."

Susan reluctantly took a few sips.

Just then, Lily's phone rang. She stepped out to answer it.

It was a friend of Gavin's, sounding urgent. "Lily, something happened. Todd Bailey and his gang hired thugs to beat up Gavin. They went to block him, saying they wanted to teach him a lesson. And now, I can't reach Gavin."

Lily was shocked. "What's going on? Isn't Todd friends with Gavin? They went to the same high school. Why are they fighting?"

"It's over Lisa Moore. Todd likes her too, and now they're enemies."

"Where did Gavin go?" Lily was very anxious.

Todd had a notorious reputation for fighting in high school. He got expelled for injuring someone and spent three years in juvie.

"Gavin and Lisa went hiking at Emerald Peak. I'm heading there now."

"Okay, I'll go too. I'll try to contact Gavin first."

Lily was frantic. After hanging up, she told Susan, "I need to go out. Call me if you need anything."

Susan said, "Okay, go ahead. Don't worry about me."

Lily hurried out, and not long after, Dylan came back with Tate and Caspian.

Tate wanted to ask Lily if Ophelia had left any last words.

Susan heard the commotion and came out. She was surprised to see Tate and Caspian. "Why are you two here?"

Caspian said, "Susan, we came because of Ophelia. We just visited her grave."

"You know too?" Susan was shocked.

Tate and Caspian nodded.

Susan sighed, "Poor Ophelia."

Dylan didn't see Lily around and asked, "Susan, where's Lily?"

"She went out for something," Susan said, then asked Caspian, "You didn't tell Finnegan, did you?"

After boss's baby, she Escape
