Chapter 24 Truly Pregnant
Caspian asked urgently, "Is it serious? Which hospital did she go to?"
His level of concern made it seem as if there was really something between him and Ophelia.
Finnegan looked at Caspian with a complex gaze.
Linda half-truthfully said, "I'm not sure. It might be her stomach's problem. She notified me ahead."
She was worried that Finnegan might blame Ophelia.
Caspian said, "It might be a stomachache, or maybe she's just too tired..."
Finnegan frowned coldly, saying to Caspian, "She got sick. What's the point of you being worried here?"
Caspian stated matter-of-factly, "When a beauty is sick, it's the time she's most vulnerable and in need of care. I wanna take this chance and let her know I care about her."
Linda was shocked, wondering, 'Is Mr. Hawthorne pursuing Ophelia?'
Caspian couldn't wait any longer. "Linda, give me Ophelia's number. I'm gonna go take care of her."
Linda glanced at Finnegan and said to Caspian, "Sorry, Mr. Hawthorne, I can't give you her private contact without her permission."
Caspian turned to Finnegan. "Boss, say something. She's your secretary."
Finnegan sipped his coffee and said indifferently, "I can't watch her fall into a pit of fire."
Caspian was displeased. "Boss, what do you mean by that? I'm sincere. Your employee got sick, and I care about her. Any problems?"
Linda could hardly contain her laughter.
Finnegan raised an eyebrow. "Like you said, my employee. What does she have to do with you?"
"Boss, you just said you wouldn't interfere. I think you just can't bear to let her go..."
"Caspian." Finnegan's eyes darkened. "It's work time."
"All right, all right, I'll find a way myself," Caspian muttered, not daring to retort.

In the hospital.
Wearing a mask, Ophelia nervously registered and saw a doctor, who then instructed her to take a urine test.
After drinking a lot of water, Ophelia finally took a urine cup to the lady's room.
After collecting the urine, Ophelia washed her hands at the sink, placing the urine cup on the countertop.
Coincidentally, another woman also came out of a stall with a urine cup, and they placed their cups together.
"Be patient. It'll take half an hour to get the result." The woman was on the phone while washing her hands. Without looking, she picked up Ophelia's cup by mistake and left.
Ophelia, who was facing the mirror and fixing her hair, didn't notice this mistake.
The cups were switched just like that.
After tidying up, Ophelia took the urine cup to the sample collection area.
The nurse reminded her, "Stick the barcode on it. In half an hour, you'll get the report from the machine. Then, show it to the doctor."
"Okay, thank you." Ophelia stuck the barcode onto the urine cup and then sat in the waiting area.
The woman who had taken the wrong cup was sitting next to her, continuously talking on the phone.
Ophelia sat beside her, occasionally overhearing parts of the conversation.
She somehow felt this half-hour wait was like an eternity.
When the time was almost up, Ophelia went to get the report. Although she couldn't understand the data, she recognized the words "early intrauterine pregnancy".
She repeated the words in her heart, 'Early intrauterine pregnancy'.
'Am I really pregnant?' she thought.
"Congratulations, you're pregnant, about forty-two days long," the female doctor said with a smile. "Go home and rest. Start taking folic acid now. Didn't your husband come with you?"
Stunned, Ophelia said subconsciously, "I'm not married."
The doctor seemed to be accustomed to such situations. She asked, "Do you wanna keep the child? If not, it's better to have an abortion early, and I won't need to prescribe you folic acid."
'Abortion?' Ophelia repeated the word in her heart.
After she reacted, she immediately said with strong emotions, "Yes. I wanna keep the child."
She had hesitated before, but the doctor's words helped make up her mind.
Even if it meant to be a single mother, she would still keep the child.
Ophelia was an orphan, and she had resented her parents for not wanting her. She couldn't want her own child.
It was just that she hadn't expected to be pregnant now.
