Chapter 561 Surgery

Landon visited the Abbott family in person and disclosed Niamh's predicament, along with the suspicion that Moonlight Gate might be targeting Finnegan.

Finnegan had more clues than the police, but some things required police investigation. He couldn't spell it out directly, so he merely provided guidance..

"Moonlight Gate's assassins?" Finnegan asked. "So who is the founder of this organization?"

"We don't know the person's age, look or gender. The underworld address the person as Nine. He or she  is elusive," Landon said. "Moonlight Gate has committed many major crimes, and the authorities have been watching them."

However, there were too many Moonlight Gate assassins. If the root cause could not be eliminated, there would always be another Moonlight Gate assassin.

"I think I've heard some news about this Moonlight Gate. This organization has been around for over twenty years. The assassins are trained from a young age. Considering the timeline, assuming it was established by someone in their twenties, they would be close to fifty years old by now.."

Landon was smart and immediately extracted useful information. "So the founder is at least fifty years old, but it doesn't rule out the possibility that someone else took over midway."

Finnegan was silent.

He couldn't tell Landon directly.

Finnegan was just speculating, guiding Landon to investigate in that direction. He couldn't directly say that Lloyd might be the founder of Moonlight Gate, as that would implicate the Abbott family.

Finnegan outwardly agreed. "That's possible, but the likelihood should be low. I suddenly remembered that the first shot hit the tire. This assassin is kind as he could have killed the target with one shot. If you find this assassin, it might be very helpful."

Finnegan also guessed who fired the first shot that night, Tate.

With this realization, everything fell into place.

The first person to silence Deacon was probably also Tate.

Finnegan learned from Ophelia that Tate had come to see her before and advised her not to look for Moonlight Gate.

Tate knew some things but couldn't speak out due to her identity.

Tate had vanished, presumably taken care of internally by Moonlight Gate. That waswhy Finnegan had Landon investigate. If they were in time, they might save Tate's life.

Landon was a bit excited at this clue. "Mr. Abbott, did you catch a glimpse of the assassin? Any detail, like gender or height?"

Finnegan hesitated briefly before fabricating a response. "It looked likewoman. I saw her in the rearview mirror. She had a good figure and looked quite young, in her early twenties. Wasn't the initial attempt to silence Deacon unsuccessful?Perhaps there is surveillance footage nearby that captured the assassin's appearance."

"Mr. Abbott, the clues you provided are very useful. By the way, why didn't you mention this before?"

Finnegan said seriously, "You didn't ask, and my mind was a bit chaotic at the time, so I forgot."

Landon believed him.

"Mr. Abbott, please stay safe. We will increase police presence to ensure your safety until the case is solved."

Finnegan nodded. "Thank you."

"It's my duty," Landon said. "Alright, rest well. I'll see you later."

"Mr. Benedict, take care. I won't see you out," Finnegan said, as it was inconvenient for him to do so.

"No need." Landon wouldn't dare let Finnegan see him out.

After Landon left, Finnegan stayed on the sofa, pondering the challenges the police would face in linking it to Lloyd.

Moonlight Gate had existed for so many years, and they couldn't even catch Moonlight Gate's assassins, let alone Lloyd.

Finnegan was anxious to restore his vision, and that same evening, he received news from the hospital that a compatible cornea had been located. The surgery was set for the day after tomorrow.

This news excited Ophelia, and everyone in the Abbott family hoped the surgery would be successful.

Finnegan appeared composed outwardly, but internally, he felt nervous and anxious. The success of this surgery was crucial for his chances of regaining his sight.

In the blink of an eye, the day of the surgery arrived.

Before the surgery began, Finnegan had a private meeting with his attending physician, James Smith.

"James, what's the success rate?"

James conservatively said, "Thirty percent."

That probability was too low.

Finnegan slightly clenched his fist and said, "Thank you."
