Chapter 632 Daddy, I Want a Hug
Anthony, lowered his head and said, "It was your kin who set the fire. The firefighters have already gone to put it out, but the blaze is too intense."
Lloyd had used extreme measures to reclaim the old house, which caused his relatives to retaliate, so they simply set it on fire.
The one who set the fire was Lloyd's uncle, who refused to acknowledge Lloyd as his nephew and didn't recognize Lloyd as a Rivonia.
Lloyd's uncle was already over eighty years old, and when he set the fire, he was inside the house himself, choosing to perish with it.
Anthony hadn't expected him to be so resolute.
Lloyd irritably ran a hand through his hair, glanced at Warmie sleeping in the crib, and then said to Anthony, "Let's go. We need to check it out now."
Lloyd had to go see it, even if it was reduced to ruins.
He had just found his roots, only for them to be burned down.
"Yes, Master." Anthony took a few people with them.
This time, Lloyd didn't bring Warmie, leaving Ruth to look after her.
Finnegan was constantly monitoring Lloyd's movements. Using binoculars, he saw Lloyd leaving the hotel with Anthony and a group of people, without Warmie. His heart raced with excitement.
Finnegan knew his opportunity had come.
Lloyd had taken some of the Moonlight Gate members with him, making it easier for Finnegan to act.
He put on a disguise and prepared some items in his pocket before heading out.
Ten minutes later, Finnegan, dressed as a hotel staff member, carried a pack of diapers and entered the floor where Lloyd was staying.
Lloyd had booked the entire floor, so there was no one in the hallway. As soon as Finnegan stepped out of the elevator, he was stopped by two Moonlight Gate guards.
Finnegan lied, "The front desk received a call from room 809 requesting baby diapers."
The two guards, performing their routine check, saw the diapers and one of them said, "Just give them to us."
Warmie always needed diapers, and this wasn't the first time hotel staff had been asked to bring some.
Everyone in Moonlight Gate knew how much Lloyd adored Warmie. Anything related to her was never questioned or blocked.
This was something Finnegan had discovered after following them for so long. Using this excuse was the only way to get closer to Warmie.
With his disguise, Finnegan's appearance was unremarkable, and the Moonlight Gate guards didn't recognize him.
With a smile, Finnegan handed over the diapers, saying, "Here you go."
As he handed the diapers to the guards, he swiftly injected one of them with a syringe of anesthetic before the other could react. He then kicked the second guard to the ground and quickly anesthetized him as well.
Finnegan moved so quickly that both guards were subdued in moments without alerting anyone inside the room.
After glancing around, Finnegan dragged the guards aside and then knocked on the door of room 809 with the diapers in hand.
Inside, Warmie had woken up and was crying. Ruth, unable to soothe her, was at her wit's end.
Hearing the knock, Ruth, thinking it must be someone from Moonlight Gate since they were guarding the hallway, went to open the door with the crying Warmie in her arms.
Seeing a hotel staff member at the door, Ruth was momentarily stunned. "What's the matter?"
Ruth, being vigilant, peeked into the hallway, noticing the absent guards. Alarm bells started ringing in her head.
Finnegan, seeing Warmie crying in Ruth's arms, suppressed his urge to grab her and said, "I'm a hotel staff member here to deliver diapers."
Warmie, sensing the familiar presence of her father despite the disguise, reached out her hands and mumbled, "Hug, hug."
