Finnegan didn't have time to tell Ophelia about his suspicions. There was an issue with the company's collaboration in France, so that night, he bought a plane ticket and flew there immediately.
By the time Ophelia found out, Finnegan was about to board the plane.
Given the sudden situation, Ophelia understood and reminded him over the phone, "Stay safe. Call me when you get there."
"Okay, you take care of yourself and our baby at home."

Lynn's career was going smoothly, but Finnegan, who had gone to France, rarely sent any news back.
Ophelia was worried but didn't want to disturb Finnegan's work, so she called Atticus. Atticus always reassured her that everything was fine and going smoothly.
Finnegan's messages were similarly reassuring, telling Ophelia to rest easy at home.
Eventually, Ophelia couldn't reach Finnegan at all and could only get through to Atticus.
Anxious, Ophelia asked Atticus over the phone, "What's going on with Finnegan? Why isn't he answering his phone? Every time I call, it's turned off."
Atticus vaguely replied, "Finnegan is in meetings with the partners. There's a time difference, and sometimes, he has to turn off his phone during meetings. Don't worry, Finnegan is fine. He'll be back in a few days. Once he's done, I'll have him call you."
"Alright then." Ophelia said, still doubtful. It didn't make sense for Finnegan's phone to be off all the time.
Meanwhile, in France, after dealing with Ophelia, Atticus immediately met with the company's legal team to come up with a plan. Finnegan had been accused of raping a female manager named Mary from the partner company and had been arrested.
It was clearly a setup, and the situation had blown up. Atticus was doing everything he could to suppress the news, preventing it from reaching back home.
The France police took Finnegan away, and the laws there were very strict about such cases. Even bail couldn't get Finnegan out.
Atticus was extremely anxious. If this had happened back home, it would have been a minor issue. But now it was clear they had been framed. Mary was crying in front of the police, accusing Finnegan, and all the evidence was against him.
Back home, Ophelia was unaware of what had happened. As days passed, her suspicions grew. Just as she was about to go to the Abbott Family estate to ask about Finnegan, news of his incident in France finally reached home.
The news caused a huge uproar, and there was even a video online of Finnegan being arrested. Ophelia was so shocked and distressed that she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen and started bleeding.
