Chapter 748 Investigating Lily

Caspian was pretty laid-back, not one for details. When Tate asked, "Anything weird goin' on since Ophelia got back? Any strange stuff happen?"

"Strange stuff?" Caspian scratched his head. "Like what?"

"Nah, can't say it has," he finally said. "Unless you count 'em sleepin' in separate rooms."

Tate raised an eyebrow. "Ophelia and Finnegan never shared a room?"

"Nope," Caspian confirmed. "And she's been back a while now. Even if she doesn't remember everything, you'd think they'd be bunkin' together by now. Finnegan lost his touch or somethin'?"

Tate said, "A normal woman can't resist a guy who's rich, handsome, and deeply affectionate."

Rich, handsome, and deeply affectionate—if a guy has even one of these, winning over a woman isn't hard. Having all three? That's rare.

Caspian grinned and said, "Tate, you're talking about me, right? Didn't know you thought so highly of me."

Tate was speechless.

She couldn't really argue. Caspian wasn't as rich as Finnegan, but he was still well-off. He wasn't as handsome, but he stood out. And he had waited for Tate while in prison, staying loyal.

Tate took a sip of water. "Passable."

Each aspect was top-notch.

Caspian laughed, "Tate, how about we hit the rooftop restaurant tonight? Celebrate with some champagne..."

"I have plans tonight," Tate said. "My dad's taking me to a social event."

"Your dad's grooming you?" Caspian was happy for him. "He has good taste."

Being groomed by Moonlight Gate, Tate was smart and quick to learn, even if it wasn't the best in business.

Business was all about seizing opportunities, avoiding risks, and making profits. Foresight and ability were crucial.

"Yeah," Tate said. "Raymond has no interest in business, so I'm lucky."

"What about tomorrow? I'll make a reservation..."

Tate said, "Tomorrow I'm heading to Oceanview City. Ophelia was taken in by a family there. I need to investigate and clear some things up."

"What things?"

Since it involved Ophelia, Caspian was very interested.

Tate pondered for a moment, "I suspect the current Ophelia is a fake."

Caspian's face changed, "Tate, can someone be fake? Are you joking? How could Ophelia be fake? We've seen her countless times. She's real."

"Of course she's real, but whether she's Ophelia is another question," Tate said. "At Moonlight Gate, we used various disguises to complete missions. Masks and plastic surgery are the most effective. I suspect she had surgery."

"You mean Lily had surgery to look like Ophelia?" Caspian still found it hard to believe. "Even if surgery is advanced, unless they're twins, where would you find two identical people?"

"It's possible. Perfectly replicating a face isn't a technical challenge," Tate said. "You don't know this field, so you're not aware."

"If this Ophelia is fake, then where's the real Ophelia? What's her motive for getting close to Finnegan?" Caspian thought. "Doesn't seem like it's for love, otherwise they wouldn't sleep separately. Maybe for money."

"Whatever the motive, we need to go to Oceanview City to find out," Tate warned. "Until we clear things up, don't alert anyone, especially Finnegan."

Caspian made a zipping motion with his mouth. "I promise to keep quiet. Tate, I'll go with you tomorrow."

He also wanted to know if this Ophelia was fake and where the real Ophelia was.

"Alright." Tate put down his water glass. "I also want to know where the real Ophelia is. I'm just afraid she might have met with misfortune."

Caspian had the same suspicion. "Actually, when Ophelia came back, it was already strange. Surviving in such circumstances was a miracle. But whether real or fake, Finnegan getting out of the monastery is a good thing."

After boss's baby, she Escape
