Chapter 492 In Control

Jude was quite surprised. Today, Finnegan was acting unusually, letting Oscar join them for breakfast and agreeing to take him to the company. In the past, Finnegan would never have consented to this.

'Could it be that Finnegan had softened after becoming a father, considering them all as family and not caring about such things anymore?' Jude thought it was a good thing to have peaceful relations among brothers.

"Alright, let's take him along." Jude thought naively, utterly unaware of the hidden intentions of both Oscar and Finnegan.

Jude and Oscar rode in one car while Finnegan took another. Atticus and the driver were already waiting at the door.

After Finnegan got into the car, he coldly instructed, "Keep an eye on Oscar later. Also, when we reach the company, in front of Oscar, say that the office surveillance is down."

"The surveillance isn't down." Atticus quickly realized. "Alright, Mr. Abbott, I understand."

Atticus had been puzzled when he saw Oscar coming along, but now he understood that it was intentional.

Finnegan looked out the window, through the rearview mirror, and could see the car with Jude and Oscar right behind them. If Oscar weren't given a chance, Deacon wouldn't make his next move.

An hour later, the two cars arrived at the entrance of Abbott's Corporation building, one following the other.

Jude held onto Oscar, treating him like a child, afraid of losing him. Finnegan and Atticus walked ahead, going upstairs to the office. Following the instructions, Atticus reported some work arrangements and deliberately, in front of Oscar, said to Finnegan, "Mr. Abbott, the surveillance in your office is down and not yet fixed. I've ordered new equipment, and it should be fixed by this afternoon."

"Alright, it's a minor issue. There's no need to report it to me," Finnegan said expressionlessly. "Inform everyone. We'll have a meeting in ten minutes."

"Yes, Mr. Abbott." Atticus left.

Upon hearing that the office surveillance was down, Oscar felt a surge of joy. Today was indeed lucky for him. He had been wondering how to come to the company and steal the seal, and everything was going so smoothly. Coincidentally, the surveillance was also down, and it seemed like God was even helping him.

Finnegan said to Jude, "Dad, you guys wait here for a while. I'll come over after I'm done. If you want to eat or drink something, instruct the secretary."

"Alright, Finnegan. You go ahead," Jude smiled. "Don't worry about us. I'll just wander around."

Finnegan should have paid more attention to the two of them and went to the meeting room first. With Finnegan gone, Oscar no longer felt pressured and felt much more comfortable.

However, Oscar still needed to have the opportunity to act as Jude was always around. Oscar pretended to be clueless, wandering around the office, touching things, showing a curious expression.

Jude said, "Oscar, don't touch Finnegan's things. They are all very important and shouldn't be touched."

Despite Jude's warning, Oscar insisted on touching and even deliberately touched the ornament on the desk, chuckling, "Uncle Jude, this is interesting and beautiful."

Seeing that Oscar was just a child at heart, Jude explained, "That's an hourglass, just for decoration. Don't break it."

Oscar's hand touched the hourglass ornament, and his eyes glanced at the seal on the desk. Usually, the seal would be kept in a safe, but today, it happened to be on the desk. As long as he could distract Jude, he could steal it.

Oscar had prepared a fake seal to switch with the real one. He intentionally said, "Uncle Jude, I want to eat cake."

"Alright, I'll ask Linda to bring it." Jude went out to call Linda. It was during this moment that Oscar swiftly swapped the seals.

Little did he know, Finnegan, who was in the meeting room, had witnessed the whole scene through the office surveillance on his phone.
