Chapter 698 Learning to Let Go

Finnegan was really feeling it today, throwing back more drinks than usual. It had been a minute since his last one, and after a few rounds, he was starting to feel a little buzzed.

The group was lively, and Finnegan was doting on Lily, making sure she had plenty of food and soup.

Wilder was also in a good mood. Normally, he didn't drink, but he made an exception today.

By the end of the meal, everyone was a bit drunk. Lynn hadn't touched any alcohol since she was the designated driver. After dinner, she said her goodbyes and took Addison home.

On the way back, Addison hummed a tune in the passenger seat, but Lynn was distracted and almost ran a red light.

"Lynn, red light," Addison quickly reminded her.

Lynn hit the brakes just in time, narrowly avoiding an accident.

Addison noticed something was off with Lynn and asked, "What's up with you today? Ophelia's back, but you don't seem happy."

"No, I'm happy." Lynn forced a smile.

Addison now worked with Lynn at the dance studio, and they had become close friends, especially because of Ophelia. They shared everything with each other.

In this bustling city, Addison didn't have many close friends, and Lynn was one of them.

"Lynn, I can tell something's on your mind," Addison said. "During dinner, you were quiet and kept staring at Ophelia. I know you like Finnegan, but now that Ophelia's back, you and Finnegan don't have a chance anymore, right?"

Addison was blunt.

Lynn shook her head. "No, Finnegan and I never had a chance. But I don't know why, I just feel that Ophelia is acting strange this time, very distant."

"I didn't notice anything," Addison said. "Is it because Ophelia lost her memory? She doesn't remember us, so it's normal for her to be distant. She's not very warm with Finnegan either, just polite."

Lynn couldn't pinpoint it. "Maybe."

Addison said, "No matter what, the fact that Ophelia is alive and back is a blessing. That's a great thing."

"Yeah, as long as she's back, it's good," Lynn muttered. The light turned green, and she started the car and continued driving.

At the Abbott Mansion, after dinner, Finnegan took Lily to the yard to set off fireworks, and Caspian went to light them.

The fireworks bloomed beautifully in the night sky.

Finnegan walked to Lily's side, looking at her with gentle eyes. "Ophelia, we will never be apart again. I finally have the chance to make up for past regrets. Our wedding, there's still time."

At the mention of the wedding, Lily said, "I can't remember anything right now. Let's talk about the wedding later."

To Lily, Finnegan was a stranger.

Afraid of scaring her, Finnegan said, "Alright, whatever you want, Ophelia. Even if you can't remember, it's okay. I'll make you fall in love with me again. We'll start over."

Lily forced a smile but didn't say anything.

The fireworks lasted a long time, and it was late. Worried that Lily might get cold, Finnegan said, "Ophelia, shall we go back and rest?"

Warmie had already been taken to rest by Celia.

At this moment, Wilder walked over. "Ophelia, come back to the Parks family with me tonight. Let Dovie know you're back and give her some comfort."

"Okay." Lily agreed, then said to Finnegan, "I'll go back with Wilder."

Having finally found Ophelia, Finnegan was reluctant to let her go.

But considering Ophelia's current situation, Finnegan had to agree. "Alright, I'll take you back."

Wilder said, "No need, we have a driver."

As a father, Wilder also wanted to spend time alone with Ophelia.

Wilder thought he owed Ophelia a lot, and now that he had the chance to make up for it and continue their relationship, he cherished it.

So, Lily went back to the Parks estate with Wilder. Finnegan saw them off at the door, standing there even after the car was out of sight.

Jude said, "Finnegan, don't lose heart. It's only because she can't remember the past. Believe that Ophelia will fall in love with you again."

After boss's baby, she Escape
