Chapter 208 Property Certificate Is Discovered
"Ophe, I can't afford to pay five thousand every month." Seraphina clenched her teeth, resenting why Ophe had to give her such a hard time. It was already agreed to borrow the money, but now there was this additional demand.
Ophe said, "You can afford it. I have a plan for you. Since you haven't had a job before, I found one for you with a monthly salary of eight thousand dollars. You can use five thousand to repay the debt, and you'll have three thousand left, which should be enough for you."
Seraphina had never worked before and had always lied to people. Ophe and Magnus were no longer going to tolerate Seraphina.
"Three thousand won't be enough."
Ophe interrupted her, saying, "So, do you want to borrow this one million five hundred thousand or not? If you want to borrow the money, then you have to follow the terms of the contract, Seraphina. Money doesn't grow on trees."
Magnus added, "Seraphina, we both hope that this incident will teach you a lesson and allow you to start anew once it's over."
In fact, making Seraphina repay the money was indirectly helping her save. Magnus and Ophe were both working together to guide Seraphina back onto the right path. She needed pressure in order to find her direction.
In order to quickly address the million-dollar debt, Seraphina reluctantly signed.
After signing, Seraphina mockingly said, "Ophe, don't worry, I won't default on the payment."
Ophe put away the contract and said, "I hope so, too. From now on, you can send the money to the account specified in this contract every month."
Ophe implied that there was no need for unnecessary interaction.
It was far from what Seraphina expected.
She not only had to repay the loan, but her relationship with Ophe also did not improve.
There were two copies of the contract, and Ophe took the signed contract and left first.
Seraphina sat in the cafe, feeling annoyed, while Magnus stayed behind to accompany her.
"Let's go."
Magnus was also prepared to leave.
"Magnus, do you know what you just signed? It's a contract of servitude," Seraphina sneered. "I have been sold to Ophe for twenty-five years, working for her for twenty-five years. Finnegan is worth more than millions every minute, but I will need over twenty years to repay it. Ophe is so confident because she has married well."
Seraphina continued to talk about Ophe behind her back.
"If you're capable, then don't borrow money from Ophe," Magnus said displeasedly. "We haven't been able to help Ophe, and instead, we've been dragging her down. Do you really think she can just easily come up with so much money? She didn't earn it. Asking others for money, even if they're a couple, is a challenge for her mentally. She's in a difficult position. It's because we grew up together, childhood friends, that Ophe is willing to help."
Magnus understood Ophe's mindset.
"I was just saying it without thinking. You always defend Ophe like this, Magnus. Am I wrong? She's living a good life. Shouldn't she help us out? The over a million I borrowed was because I kneeled. I have never kneeled for anyone in my life. Don't think I don't know that Ophe gave you a house."
Seraphina slipped up for a moment; she glanced at Magnus's expression and then continued, "A house in New York may cost millions or even billions. She would give it to you casually."
"I didn't plan on taking that house. When I'm better off, I'll find a new place to move out." Magnus's thoughts had always stayed the same.
Seraphina didn't take it seriously; she didn't believe that Magnus really didn't want it.
She felt extremely unfair deep down.
Magnus stood up and said, "I'll accompany you to the bank to pay off all the online loans. Let's see how many loans we need to repay. Let's stop borrowing in the future."
Magnus had been busy with Seraphina's affairs.
Ophe provided the money, and Magnus put in the effort since he was a lawyer and understood how to handle it.
At the same time, Riley was cleaning and folding clothes at home when she found the property deed in the closet drawer.
"Tobias, come look at this. What is it?" Riley called out.
Tobias entered the house quickly and said, "What's the matter? I was still watching TV."
"Is this a property certificate? I can't read, but it looks like one," said Tobias.
Tobias recognized a few characters, so he opened the property certificate and glanced at it. "It really is a property certificate. Didn't Magnus say that this house is rented? Could it be that he bought it? Magnus deceived us."
