Chapter 590 Test Subject
In front of Caspian, Finnegan had to continue pretending to be blind.
Upon learning about Tate's situation, Finnegan was quite surprised. "Caspian, are you sure Tate can't remember anything?"
"I've been following her for a day, and I'm very sure. I asked her to be my secretary at Hawthorne's Corporation, and she agreed without hesitation. The previous Tate would never have agreed to that," Caspian said. "I helped her rent the house, so I know where she lives. Finnegan, you can go see for yourself."
"It is a bit strange," Finnegan said. "Tate's mission failed. According to Moonlight Gate's rule, she would be in grave danger. Now she's alive but has lost her memory. Her memory must have been erased."
"Erased?" Caspian was curious. "Is Moonlight Gate really that powerful?"
"Don't underestimate Moonlight Gate," Finnegan said. "They could do anything. Keep a close eye on Tate."
"Don't worry, Finnegan. I'll keep her close and watch her 24/7," Caspian said. "Finnegan, do you think Moonlight Gate might have given up on Tate? Maybe she can live a normal life now."
Deep down, Caspian still felt very sympathetic towards Tate. Like any ordinary girl her age, she should be dating, hanging outwith friends, working hard, and enjoying life, with a few admirers perhaps.
But Tate was an assassin, constantly facing life-threatening situations. He had heard from Finnegan about how Moonlight Gate trained their assassins.
They were trained from a very young age and had to constantly fight. Only one could suvive in the end.
Every assassin from Moonlight Gate had survived by stepping over countless corpses.
Finnegan shook his head. "The Moonlight Gate spent a lot of effort training an assassin. They won't give up on Tate. No assassin from Moonlight Gate ever retires peacefully."
Hearing this, Caspian became anxious. "So, did Tate escape from Moonlight Gate? If she's caught, will she be killed? I need to find Tate right now and hire more bodyguards to protect her."
"It's not impossible. Moonlight Gate is very strong at tracking. They might be looking for Tate now."
"Then I'll go find Tate now." Caspian hurried off, worried about Tate's safety.
Finnegan didn't interfere and let him go.
In the Church.
Lloyd had been staying here with Susan for a day.
After praying, Susan still had to stay here for another three days.
Lloyd, wanting to show his respect, had to stay with her.
At this moment, Susan was in worship, and Lloyd went to the back of the church alone.
Anthony appeared. "Master, Tate escaped from Moonlight Gate headquarters yesterday. Her memory has been erased. Do we need to capture her?"
Even though Lloyd wasn't at headquarters, he knew exactly what was happening.
"No need, just keep an eye on her in secret," Lloyd said. "Let's see how long this memory-erasing technology lasts."
Lloyd was referring to the memory-erasing technology.
Tate was just one of the test subjects.
"Yes, Master." Anthony felt a bit unwilling, thinking they had given up on Tate.
"Leave the church and go keep an eye on the Abbott family, especially Finnegan."
"Yes," Anthony responded and left.
After he left, Lloyd returned to the church. Susan had finished praying and was chatting with a priest.
Seeing Lloyd, Susan waved. "Lloyd, come here."
"Mom." Lloyd walked over.
Susan said, "I prayed for your parents here. You should also pray for them."
Despite Susan's good intentions, Lloyd didn't appreciate it. To him, it was all hypocritical.
On the surface, Lloyd still complied. "Okay."
