Chapter 249 Taking Matters into Her Own Hands
Seraphina went to a maternity store and bought some supplements for pregnant women. Then, she went to the pharmacy to purchase health products.
After buying these, Seraphina didn't go directly to find Ophe. Instead, she called Magnus. She knew Magnus was still at the law firm, so she took a taxi there.
Magnus had just finished matters when Seraphina arrived. Magnus said, "Seraphina, why are you here? Is something wrong?"
Now, Magnus felt a little burdened whenever he saw Seraphina because whenever she came to him, it meant something was wrong.
"I bought some supplements for Ophe, and I wanted you to give them to her," Seraphina said, "She is pregnant, and there's not much I can do to help, so I thought I'd buy her some supplements."
"How did you know?" Magnus became alert.
He remembered Finnegan's instructions. How could Seraphina, who harbored resentment, suddenly be so kind and give nutrition supplements?
Ophe didn't tell Seraphina about her pregnancy, and Magnus didn't mention it either. How did Seraphina know?
"I found out when I went to Ophe's Japanese restaurant the other day." Seraphina handed the supplements to Magnus. "You can give these to her. You don't need to tell her they're from me. I just bought them. The people at the pharmacy said pregnant women should take these."
Magnus looked at the boxes of supplements and said, "Alright, just leave them here for now."
"You can go back to your work. I'll leave first." Seraphina behaved very honestly this time, speaking without arrogance or impatience.
"Seraphina," Magnus called her back, "How is it at the electronics factory? Are you getting used to it?"
"It's alright," Seraphina smiled and said, "My coworkers are all friendly. It was a bit tiring at first because of the long hours, but I've gotten used to it."
This statement was reasonable.
Working in the factory was tiring.
Magnus felt a bit relieved. "Seraphina, work hard, and don't hesitate to call me if there's anything."
"Okay," Seraphina said. "Then, I'll head out now."
Seraphina left without asking for money from Magnus.
As Magnus watched her leave, he glanced at the nutritional products that Seraphina had sent him.
Magnus considered what Finnegan had said. He didn't give the nutritional products to Ophe as Finnegan had suggested; instead, he threw them away.
Seraphina was inconsistent before. She would apologize but then secretly cause trouble. Magnus had to be on guard against her.
He went straight home because he didn't need to meet any clients today so that he could go back early.
These days, Tobias had stopped insisting on selling the house, which made him a little comfortable.
Magnus drove back home, and as soon as he stepped out of the elevator, he saw several unfamiliar men and women coming out of his house.
Tobias saw them off while laughing and talking. He didn't notice Magnus and overheard them saying, "The location of this house is good. I've already checked it, and it's definitely a great deal, especially since it's in the school district. The house is worth thirteen million."
"We'll consider it." One of the strange men casually asked, "What's the ownership situation of this house? Is it solely owned, or is it jointly owned by you both?"
"It's jointly owned by the two of us," Tobias replied without hesitation, claiming the house as his own.
Magnus stepped out of the elevator, and he heard these words and wondered, "Tobias, what's going on? Who are these people?"
"Magnus, why are you back?" Tobias's face turned cold. He showed no signs of guilt and casually said, "They're here to see the house."
Magnus immediately understood and spoke with a hint of anger in his tone, "Tobias, I told you that we can't do anything with this house."
Magnus said to the unfamiliar men and women, "I'm sorry, but I'm not selling this house. Please don't come again."
The unfamiliar man grew annoyed and blamed Tobias, "What's going on in your family? You're not selling it, and yet you let us come see the house."
The unfamiliar group angrily left.
Tobias's face darkened, and he unhappily said, "Magnus, what? My words are no longer effective, and I have to listen to you. Several people have already come to see it, and they all think it's good. Someone has even offered twelve million. We need to finalize it."
