Chapter 674 The First Time Going Home
Hearing the car, Barbara knew Raymond had brought Tate back. She called out, "Quick, Tate's here!"
"Coming!" Eugene, excited and a bit nervous, hurried downstairs. "How do I look?"
"Great," Barbara smiled. "Hurry, they're here."
Barbara saw the car pull into the garage.
The couple rushed to welcome Tate home. It was her first time back after being lost for twenty years. They wanted her to feel the family's warmth.
Karen watched her parents and felt uncomfortable and jealous.
Sandra had just returned, and her parents were so happy. What about her?
Karen followed them outside. Raymond was already out of the car with Tate. Barbara grabbed Tate's hand excitedly. From her angle, Karen couldn't see Tate's face. Seeing her family surround Sandra, Karen felt even more jealous.
"Karen, come meet your sister," Eugene said, waving. There was a hint of reproach, as if blaming Karen for not being more enthusiastic.
Karen walked over and forced a smile. "Sandra, welcome home."
Barbara was holding Tate. When Tate heard the voice, she got up, looked at Karen, and said coolly, "Thanks."
Karen was shocked when she saw Tate's face. "Wait, you're my sister? No way. Mom, Dad, this has to be a mistake. She's not Sandra."
Karen knew Tate was connected to Caspian but didn't realize she had stayed at Raymond's house before. Tate had worn a mask back then, so Karen didn't recognize her.
Thinking about how obsessed Caspian was with Tate, Karen couldn't handle it.
Karen's reaction annoyed Eugene and Barbara. Barbara's face darkened. "Karen, this is your sister Sandra, and she is called Tate now. There's no mistake."
"Mom, she's not," Karen said, getting worked up. "She was..."
"Raymond found Sandra a while ago. The one who stayed at his place was Tate," Barbara explained, thinking Karen had recognized Tate from Raymond's house. Raymond had told her about Tate wearing a mask before they went to see her in prison. Otherwise, she wouldn't have recognized her. They were the same person.
When Tate wore the mask, Barbara felt a sense of familiarity, especially with her eyes. Seeing Tate's real face, Barbara was sure this was her daughter. She didn't even need a DNA test.
Tate really looked a lot like her.
Karen was stunned. Tate had been staying at Raymond's place?
Had they been fooled all along?
Karen wanted to speak, but Raymond stopped her. He turned to Barbara and said, "Mom, let's take Tate inside to see her room."
"Yes, Tate, come on, let me show you your room," Barbara said warmly, holding Tate's hand. "I redecorated it. If you don't like it, we can change it."
Barbara wasn't concerned about Karen right now. She just wanted to make up for lost time with Tate. She led Tate inside, and Eugene, eager to get closer to Tate, followed them.
Raymond held Karen back. After everyone went inside, he said, "Karen, Tate has been lost for twenty years. This is her first time back home. Please be considerate and don't upset Mom, Dad, or especially Tate."
Raymond felt sorry for Tate. She had been lost for years and could only stay a few days before going back to prison. Karen, on the other hand, had grown up in luxury, always having the best. Naturally, everyone wanted to make Tate feel more comfortable.
