Chapter 345 Inner Turmoil
Upon hearing this, Niamh and Natalie both looked at Dovie in surprise.
Natalie asked, "Why the sudden rush? Ricky is still in the hospital. Why would you think of moving up the wedding date?"
Niamh felt dissatisfied but dared not express it.
Dovie didn't answer Natalie, but turned to Niamh and asked, "Niamh, what do you think?"
Niamh forced a smile and said, "I'll go along with your plans."
"Alright, it's settled then," Dovie said. "October 1st is a good day. I'll discuss it with his family and set it for that day."
There were less than three months left until October.
As Niamh agreed, Natalie naturally had nothing more to say.
This topic came up suddenly. Just as Natalie was about to say something, Dovie turned to Niamh again and said, "Later, you'll come with me to the hospital to visit Grandma Abbott, who is hospitalized. As a young member of the family, you should go visit."
Niamh obediently agreed. "Okay, I'll accompany you."
Natalie, unaware of the situation, asked, "Why is Grandma Abbott in the hospital?"
Dovie glanced at Niamh, then took another sip of milk and said, "Someone gave Ophelia abortion pills, which Grandma Abbott mistakenly ingested. The culprit is already in custody and the police are investigating if there's someone behind it."
The words that followed were purely to test Niamh.
Upon hearing that the police were investigating the mastermind behind, Niamh's grip on the milk cup slipped, and it fell to the ground, spilling milk everywhere.
Dovie looked at Niamh's reaction with a complex expression, then calmly instructed the maid. "Clean this up."
Niamh, feeling anxious, explained it away. "It slipped."
Natalie said with concern, "Go wash your hands first and change your clothes."
A good amount of milk had spilled on Niamh's clothes.
"Okay." Niamh went upstairs to change.
Dovie suddenly lost her appetite, as it seemed Finnegan's speculation might be true.
"Dovie," Natalie said. "Why do you look so pale?"
"Maybe I didn't sleep well last night." Dovie's mood worsened, as the thing that she least wanted to happen finally happened.
Dovie's expression was serious, as she rarely treated her family so seriously, which made Natalie very uneasy.
After Niamh changed her clothes and came down, Dovie took her to the hospital.
Niamh was quiet all the way as Dovie was unusually serious today, which made her a bit scared.
At the hospital, Dovie ran into Ophelia.
Niamh, seeing Ophelia's pregnant belly, couldn't hide her jealousy.
"Ophelia." Dovie greeted her with a smile, a stark contrast to her previous grim demeanor.
Ophelia replied, "Dovie."
Finnegan stopped the car and naturally took Ophelia's hand.
This scene made Niamh jealous again, and she cursed Seraphina once more. She thought Seraphina was useless as she was even unable to handle even such a small matter.
'Ophelia is just fine, while Grandma Abbott lays in the hospital. What was the point of her actions?' she thought.
Dovie explained to Finnegan. "I brought Niamh to visit Grandma Abbott."
Finnegan couldn't quite figure out Dovie's intentions.
The four of them went to the hospital ward to visit Grandma Abbott.
Celia and Jude were in the hospital, and when they saw Dovie, they exchanged pleasantries.
After Dovie and Niamh visited Grandma Abbott, Ophelia deliberately said to Finnegan, "I'll go see Seraphina first. You don't have to accompany me."
Upon hearing that Ophelia was going to see Seraphina, Niamh, who had been silent, instinctively glanced at Ophelia.
Today, Niamh was very obedient.
When Niamh looked over, Ophelia also glanced at her.
Finnegan said, "I'll take you there." He then said to Dovie, "I'll take Ophe over first."
Celia came out of the ward and said, "Ophelia, ask Seraphina what she was thinking. She's too ruthless and malicious to be your friend. I don't think she has the guts to do this alone, so there might be someone behind this. Let the police interrogate her thoroughly."
Celia didn't know anything actually, but she just said it off the cuff.
Celia's words made Niamh startle like a frightened bird, as she worried that Seraphina might slip up and reveal that she was her accomplice.
