Chapter 393 Critical Condition

Niamh feigned concern, saying, "You can go in. My mom's condition worsened suddenly. She fainted at home. I'm really worried."

"How did it get so serious?" Jude asked as he walked in.

Celia pulled him back, indicating he should follow her lead and not be overly active.
Celia's jealousy could flare up at any moment.

Jude followed reluctantly, and Natalie also entered to check on Dovie.
Dovie, in a daze, heard someone calling her and gradually woke up.

Seeing Jude and Celia, she forced a weak smile. "You're here."

"Dovie, how did your health deteriorate so quickly? You're back in the hospital again." Celia said, genuinely concerned and warm. Seeing Dovie like this, she felt a pang of sympathy.

"I'm getting old. My time is running out." Dovie replied weakly, smiling. "How is Finnegan? And Ophelia?"

Jude said, "There's a breakthrough in Finnegan's case. The woman named Mary has retracted her statement, admitting she falsely accused him."

Celia, with a hint of pride, added, "Ophelia is doing well. She's quite capable. She managed to turn things around in just one day."

"That's good." Dovie said, trying to sit up.

Niamh quickly raised the bed and placed a pillow behind Dovie's head. "Are you feeling better?"

"Yes." Dovie nodded, noticing the power of attorney in Niamh's hand, but said nothing.

"Dovie, what's going on with you lately? Even if you're old, you shouldn't be hospitalized twice in a month." Celia commented. "Look at you, so thin, with dark circles under your eyes. You look like someone poisoned in a TV drama."

Celia's casual remark startled Niamh, fearing she might ruin things. "My mom needs rest. Maybe you should visit another day when she's better."

"Alright." Jude said. "Dovie, take care and rest well. We'll visit again another day. Don't worry. Cooperate with the doctors and recover soon."
Dovie nodded, and Jude and Celia left.

"This is the power of attorney. Please sign here." Niamh said, handing the document to Dovie with a pen, barely concealing her impatience.

Dovie looked at Niamh with a complex expression. Natalie urged, "Sign it quickly."

Dovie slowly took the pen and, with great effort, began to sign her name.
Niamh watched intently, her heart racing. Once the signature was complete, she would be the acting chairman, and everything would be under her control.
However, Dovie's frail body struggled with the task. Just as she was about to finish the last letter, her condition suddenly worsened. A violent cough shook her, and the heart monitor began to beep erratically.

"Mom." Niamh cried out in panic, not out of concern for Dovie's health but because the signature was incomplete. "Just one more letter."

Dovie's abdomen churned, and a metallic taste filled her throat. She coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Jude and Celia, hearing the commotion, rushed back just in time to see Dovie vomiting blood.

"Dovie." Jude called out, deeply concerned.

Celia shouted for the doctor, "Doctor, hurry! She's vomiting blood!"

Natalie was also in a panic.
The doctor quickly arrived, ushering the family out to begin emergency treatment.
Niamh clutched the incomplete power of attorney, feeling a deep sense of frustration. Just one more letter!

Celia glanced back at Niamh, noticing her focus on the document and realizing it needed to be fully signed. She saw the words "Power of Attorney" and understood.
"Niamh, your mom is in critical condition, and you're more worried about an incomplete signature." Celia said bluntly. "You have no conscience."

Niamh defended herself. "I am worried about my mom. I'm just trying to manage everything."

Natalie tried to smooth things over. "My sister's sudden illness has thrown the company into chaos. Niamh is anxious about both sides. Now, with the signature incomplete, the board won't accept it."
"Accept what? Dovie is dying, and you're still worried about that." Celia retorted, clearly displeased with Niamh.

Natalie was at a loss for words.

At that moment, the doctor emerged and said to Celia, "Mrs. Celia, the patient wants to see you."
After boss's baby, she Escape
