Chapter 703 The Promise After Release

Finnegan was set on taking Lily back to the Cooper family, and everyone in the Abbott family was on board with the plan.

It was high time they thanked the Coopers. Without their help, Ophelia might not have made it.

The next day, Finnegan, Lily, and Warmie headed to the Cooper family. They had to catch a flight and wouldn’t get there until the afternoon.

Lynn dropped by to see Warmie before heading to her studio class and found out that Finnegan and the others had gone to the Coopers.

Surprised, she asked Susan, "Why'd they suddenly go to the Coopers? Whose idea was it?"

"Finnegan's," Susan replied. "We should've gone sooner. We owe them big time. How could we not repay them?"

"Ophelia agreed too?" Lynn asked. "How'd she take it?"

"Ophelia really wanted to go back, so she was all for it." Susan sensed Lynn's hesitation. "Lynn, is there something you want to say?"

Lynn shook her head. "No."

Everyone in the Abbott family was thrilled, so Lynn kept her doubts to herself.

She had no proof anyway.

As Ophelia's husband, Finnegan was sure this was really Ophelia, so it had to be true. Maybe she was overthinking it.

"You're not getting any younger, Lynn. Find someone to spend your life with. Don't wait too long," Susan said. "It's the Abbott family that owes you."

Lynn quickly replied, "No, the Abbott family hasn't wronged me."

"I know what Celia did," Susan sighed. "The Abbott family has done a lot of bad things. Over the past two years, we've faced a lot of trouble; it's karma. Now that Ophelia is back, everything's normal again, and everyone can live peacefully. Lynn, nothing else matters; the present is what's important."

"The present is what's important," Lynn murmured, understanding. "I get it. Take care of yourself. I'll be going now."

"Alright," Susan said kindly.

While Finnegan was heading to the Cooper family, Caspian went to the prison again, asking to see Tate.

Caspian waited outside the prison in the heavy snow, just standing there, waiting.

The more obstacles he faced, the more determined he became.

This time, Tate finally agreed to see him. When Caspian heard the news, he was ecstatic.

Caspian followed the prison guard to the visiting room, and soon, Tate was brought out.

Now, Tate could meet visitors without a guard present; they could meet alone.

Seeing Tate, Caspian beamed. "Tate, you finally agreed to see me. How are you doing in there?"

Tate sat down and said, "You really are persistent."

"Because I don't want to miss out on you," Caspian immediately said affectionately. "Hey Tate, you know what? I've figured something out, maybe it's Finnegan and Ophelia's influence, but when you really vibe with someone, you gotta grab onto it and not look back."

Tate asked calmly, "I heard Ophelia is back. How is she?"

"Ophelia was injured in the ocean, hurt her head, and can't remember many things, but otherwise, she's fine," Caspian said. "It's quite miraculous. Ophelia really came back from the dead, or rather, a miracle happened, and she survived."

"As long as she's okay," Tate said, clenching her hands and mustering the courage to say, "Caspian, I understand your feelings, but we're like from totally different worlds. You have no idea what I've been through. I'm a killer from Moonlight Gate, and the last hurdle to join the club is chastity."

As he spoke, Tate clenched her hands tighter. "All female assassins in Moonlight Gate had lost their virginity and I'm no exception. If you're willing to accept me, then when I'm released, come to the prison gate to pick me up. If you don't come that day, I'll know your true feelings."

"I'll definitely come, definitely," Caspian eagerly promised. "Tate, I'll be there, no matter your past. I want to be part of your future. I hope I can be part of your future."

Caspian's response brought a slight smile to Tate's face. It took great courage for Tate to take this step and reveal the secret buried in her heart.

Perhaps true freedom and a fresh start wasn't about physical freedom but about living bravely, pursuing an ordinary life, and facing the past with courage.

Caspian also smiled. A nod from Tate was enough to fill his heart with joy.

After boss's baby, she Escape
