Chapter 371 The Frenchman Lance
Finnegan rested his head on Ophelia's belly, listening to what the little one inside was up to, though there were no obvious movements yet. Ophelia looked at Finnegan with his ear pressed against her belly, feeling a wave of happiness. She reached out to touch his face, hoping these peaceful days would continue forever.
The next day, Lynn came to invite Ophelia to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for her dance studio's opening.
Ophelia asked, "Is it ready so soon? Did you invite Finnegan?"
"He's always so busy, so I didn't bother." Lynn said. "It's just a small studio, so there is no need to have someone as important as him attend. I hope you can come next Wednesday."
Lynn didn't have many friends in New York, so she hoped Ophelia could be there for the opening.
"Of course, I'll be there." Ophelia said with a smile. "I'll prepare a big gift for you to wish you great success. From now on, your studio's employees can get a 10% discount at my Sakura Restaurant."
Ophelia had yet to go to the restaurant recently. Addison was managing it.
Lynn laughed, "Great, I need to get back to the studio, so I'll be off."
Lynn had come specifically to invite Ophelia, making it more personal than just a phone call or a message.
"Perfect timing. I need to head out to the Sakura Restaurant. Let's go together."
Whenever Ophelia went out, Tate would always follow.
Lynn glanced at Tate and said to Ophelia, "Finnegan really cares about you, even hired a personal bodyguard."
Ophelia modestly replied, "It's because of our unborn daughter."
Lynn was curious. "Did you check the gender? Is it a girl?"
"No, just a feeling it's a girl." Ophelia laughed. "I hope it's a girl as daughters are like little angels."
The two chatted happily as they left. Lynn drove to the studio while Ophelia and Tate headed to the Sakura Restaurant.
On the way, Ophelia received a call from Rhodes.
Rhodes said she wanted to introduce a new French friend to Ophelia, and Ophelia told Rhodes to come directly to her restaurant.
When Ophelia arrived at the restaurant, she said to Tate, "You don't need to follow me inside. Feel free to look around. Do you like sushi? I can set up a table for you."
"I don't like it." Tate said. "Ophelia, you go ahead. I'll sit over there."
Tate pointed to a spot by the window. She knew that constantly following Ophelia could make her uncomfortable.
"Alright, suit yourself." Ophelia said, then called Addison over. "Get Tate a glass of water."
"Sure." Addison quickly got to work and brought Tate a cup of coffee. "Tate, here's some coffee. If you need anything, just let me know."
Tate, being reserved, nodded to show she understood.
Shortly after Ophelia arrived, Rhodes came in with her French friend. "Ophelia!"
Rhodes was as cheerful and enthusiastic as ever, which was why she was so beloved in her family. After dealing with so much scheming, she preferred the company of simple, warm-hearted people.
Ophelia turned around and saw Rhodes leading a French man inside.
The man was in his twenties, with blue eyes, chiseled yet gentle features, a high nose bridge, and tousled brown hair.
Rhodes introduced him with a smile, "Ophelia, this is the French friend I told you about, Lance. Didn't I say you two look a bit alike? Lance is a descendant of French royalty."
It was Ophelia's first time meeting Lance. Despite being from different countries with different beliefs and genders, they did bear a slight resemblance at first glance, though a closer look revealed their differences.
The most similar feature was their eyes.
Lance's eyes were light blue, while Ophelia's were light brown.
Lance extended his hand warmly. "Hello, I've heard so much about you from Rhodes. This was my first time in New York, and she couldn't wait to introduce us. You're very beautiful."
Addison couldn't help but exclaim, "What a handsome foreign guy."
Ophelia extended her hand. "Hello, can you eat sushi? This is a sushi restaurant. Since it's your first time here, why not try some of our local sushi?"
Lance was very interested. "I'd be honored."
Rhodes chimed in, "Ophelia's restaurant is very popular, and the food is amazing."
Lance showed great interest. "I must try it then."
Rhodes and Lance conversed in French, which Ophelia understood, but Addison did not, so she didn't know how to prepare the ingredients.
Ophelia reminded her, "Addison, have someone prepare the ingredients and set up a table."
"Sure, I'll get right on it." Addison went to make the arrangements.
Ophelia led everyone to a private room upstairs. As the waiter started serving the dishes, Addison remembered something and said to Ophelia, "My dad called this morning. Tobias and Magnus went back home to visit the graves."
