Chapter 564 A Dream
Jude was extremely worried about Lloyd's lifelong happiness.
To help set things up, Jude pulled Paula aside and praised Lloyd in every possible way.
Paula said, "Jude, Lloyd is a bit old and too dull."
"Being older means he knows how to care for people." Jude, with her sharp tongue, said, "Lloyd is just honest. Honesty is good, which means he's steady and reliable. Think about it, you're marrying into the Abbott family. Lloyd has never been married, and we all care about that. I see you're sincere and straightforward, so I set him up with you. If you don't like him, I can find another woman."
"No, let me think about it." Paula was interested in Lloyd's status. Marrying into the Abbott family was a dream for many.
Paula was here for that reason.
"Actually, besides being a bit dull, Lloyd has no other flaws. You two should spend more time together to understand each other. I won't disturb your date then." Jude knew to create some private room for them.
Jude quietly left, leaving Lloyd behind.
Paula returned to her seat. "Lloyd, eat up before it gets cold."
Lloyd noticed Jude hadn't returned and knew he had left.
Lloyd had no interest in the date or Paula in front of him and said, "I'm full. I have something to do, so I'll leave first."
Leave?
That meant he wasn't interested in Paula.
Paula was immediately displeased. "Lloyd, you're over fifty. I'm more than ten years younger than you. Do you think I'm not good enough for you? I have many suitors."
Hearing "Abbott", Lloyd flashed a deeply hidden hatred in his eyes and he corrected, "My name is Lloyd Nguyen."
"Nguyen?" Paula was puzzled. "You're not a member of the Abbott family?"
If not, she wouldn't be interested.
Lloyd said, "My last name is Nguyen."
"Jude lied to me?" Paula was immediately displeased. "You two teamed up to deceive me?"
"I didn't lie to you. Sorry, I have something to do, so I'll leave first." Lloyd called the waiter to pay the bill and then left directly.
Paula came to her senses, very angry. She called Jude while walking out to chase Lloyd. "Jude, what's Lloyd's last name? He said it's Nguyen. Didn't you lie to me?"
"Paula, don't listen to Lloyd's nonsense. He just changed his name for business reasons..." Jude continued to bluff.
Paula had already chased Lloyd to the parking lot. Lloyd was on the phone and didn't notice Paula behind him.
Paula hung up the phone with Jude, ready to confront Lloyd. 'How can such an old man not be interested in me?' she pondered. But then she saw a young man walking toward Lloyd with a gun in his hand.
A gun?
Paula was terrified and hid behind a nearby car.
Anthony put the gun away and opened the car door. "Master."
Lloyd got in the car, and Anthony followed.
It wasn't until Lloyd's car left that Paula dared to come out.
Paula muttered, "What is this all about? Carrying a gun is too scary. Could he be in the mafia? Wouldn't that mean he's rich and powerful? Wouldn't that make me the legendary mistress?"
Paula had watched too many soap operas and had some fantasies. While scared, she felt Lloyd was not simple. He said he was in the wine business, but that might be a lie.
'If I can hook an old virgin like Lloyd, I will become the wife of the master, with a bunch of underlings. How cool!' she thought.
Thinking of this, Paula called Jude again to ask for Lloyd's contact information.
Meanwhile.
At the hospital.
After the anesthesia wore off, Finnegan woke up.
Ophelia quickly helped him sit up a bit and poured him some water. "Drink some water to moisten your throat."
She took care of him meticulously.
Finnegan took a moment and asked, "What did James say?"
"We'll know after the bandages come off. Just rest well and don't think about anything else." Ophelia didn't tell the truth.
Finnegan actually knew everything in his heart.
Finnegan pursed his lips. "Ophelia, don't worry. By the way, bring Warmie over tomorrow. Otherwise, staying here for a few days waiting for the bandages to come off will be too boring."
This was a way to keep Warmie by his side, which made him feel at ease.
"If you don't see Warmie for a day, you start missing her." Ophelia pretended to be jealous. "Now Warmie is your top priority."
