Chapter 35 An Eye for an Eye

Ophelia wasn't disappointed by Finnegan's response. Perhaps, at that moment, he really hadn't thought that much.
"Mr. Abbott, you should rest for a while. I'm going to buy some clothes for you to change into."
Not only did Finnegan need to change, but so did she. They couldn't keep walking around covered in blood.
Finnegan nodded, giving Ophelia his silent permission.
Ophelia didn't bother about brands. She followed the principle of convenience and bought clothes from a store near the hospital.
She bought Finnegan a white tracksuit, which was very cheap, costing only one hundred and fifty dollars.
She also bought a skirt for herself. Pants were inconvenient for her to wear, since her leg was still a bit sore. Wearing a skirt would make it less obvious when she walked.
Ophelia quickly washed her face in the clothing store's restroom, changed into her new skirt, and carried the clothes she bought for Finnegan.
She also bought two slices of pizza before returning to the hospital.
As soon as she reached the door of the ward, Ophelia heard some noises from inside. It sounded like... a fight was happening.
Ophelia pushed the door open and saw Finnegan, full of fury, disregarding his injuries, and knocking over a middle-aged man with a kick.
Ophelia was startled, "Mr. Abbott, you're injured!"
She quickly entered, put down the things she was carrying, and grabbed Finnegan.
Only then did she get a clear look at the man who had been knocked over.
Wasn't that Mason Abbott, Finnegan's uncle?
Finnegan was hitting his own uncle?
He dared to lay hands on an elder?
Mason Abbott had brought two assistants with him, but no one dared to intervene.
Despite being injured, Finnegan was still quite fierce.
His cold eyes, filled with murderous intent, sent chills down everyone's spine.
Finnegan stared coldly at Mason on the ground, "Uncle, you know my temper. You should have killed me. Since I'm still alive, you should prepare yourself and get a coffin ready back home."
Ophelia was taken aback when she heard this. Did Finnegan mean that today's car accident was related to Mason? Finnegan was his own nephew.
Mason was furious but dared not speak out. His seniority held no weight in front of Finnegan.
"Finnegan, what are you talking about? I don't understand. We're family; what's all this talk about killing you?" Mason stood up, clutching his kicked chest.
He was clearly in pain, but he still suppressed his anger and played dumb, "I heard from the people at the old mansion that you had a car accident, and that's why I came to see you. You didn't even tell me when you arrived."
Finnegan sneered, "With all your informants, Uncle, do you still need me to notify you?"
"Finnegan, you must have misunderstood me..."
"Get out," Finnegan said, not giving him any face.
Mason left in a mix of anger and humiliation.
Of all the Abbotts, Mason feared his nephew the most. Finnegan was now in control of the Abbott family, and Mason dared not offend him.
Over the years, he had been managing Bright Reach Company in City B, which was quite a distance from the family's power center, so he had been living quite carefree.
But Mason was a degenerate gambler. When he was unlucky, he would use the company's money to cover his losses.
He had heard rumors that Finnegan was coming to settle accounts with him.
Knowing Finnegan's character, he was sure he wouldn't get off easy. A ten-million-dollar deficit could land him in jail for a long time.
That was why he had someone tamper with Finnegan's car, to teach him a lesson.
However, Finnegan had luck on his side and didn't die.
After Mason left, Ophelia asked, "Mr. Abbott, was today's car accident related to your uncle?"
Finnegan looked at her, "Are you scared?"
"Why would he do that? You're his own nephew," Ophelia was very confused. A car's brake failure could kill someone.
"Strike first and gain the upper hand," Finnegan snorted coldly, "Unfortunately, God wasn't on his side."
"Mr. Abbott, what are you going to do next?"
Surely, he couldn't really make his own uncle pay with his life.
"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth," Finnegan's tone was so indifferent and cold that it sounded like the Grim Reaper was sentencing someone to death, "Being kind to others is being cruel to oneself."
After boss's baby, she Escape
