Chapter 14 Flirting With the Boss
Ophelia just woke up, so she hadn't put on her glasses yet. Her fluffy, unkempt hair added a touch of charming tangle to her delicate features and porcelain skin. Her bright eyes sparkled with vitality. The morning sunlight shone through the window, casting a gentle halo around her, making her beauty otherworldly.
It was then that Finnegan realized that Ophelia was such a stunning beauty.
Her skin was very fair, with a rosy tone beneath it. In her pink pajamas, she looked as if she was a blooming rose.
'How come I never noticed that Ophelia was such a pretty girl?' he thought.
"Mr. Abbott?"
Seeing him staring at her, Ophelia nervously called him by name.
Finnegan came back to his senses, aware of his lapse in composure, and quickly regained his cool demeanor. "I was just teasing you. From now on, don't wear glasses. And that fringe, you don't need that either. You look quite nice like this. Remember, the way you dress represents the company's image."
Ophelia panicked, realizing that her fake bangs had fallen off.
Finnegan left after dropping that remark, and Ophelia wasn't clear about what exactly had happened the night before.
Once he left, she checked under the bed and saw her fake bangs on the floor.
She was so wasted last night, so Ophelia decided to learn how to drink more without getting drunk.
The hotel staff brought her clothes over. With her favorite mint scent, she was glad that they washed them.
The service of a five-star hotel was indeed excellent.
After she got changed, Ophelia didn't put on her glasses or bangs anymore. She tied her hair into a high ponytail, which made her look neat and spirited.
Ophelia stepped out of the room and then ran into Caspian in the hallway.
Caspian didn't recognize Ophelia at first. When he saw her, his eyes lit up. "Hey, sweetie, may I add you on WhatsApp? I'm Caspian, the heir of Hawthorne's Corporation."
Ophelia was taken aback.
She wondered, 'Is he hitting on me?'
"Mr. Hawthorne, I'm Ophelia," she kept a smile on her face and asked. "Have you seen Mr. Abbott?"
"Ophelia?" Caspian looked incredulous. "The secretary? Ophelia? How did you turn so pretty overnight?"
Caspian scrutinized Ophelia carefully and made sure that it was her.
Ophelia said, "I've always looked like this."
"Well, lucky for him. He can actually find such a pretty secretary." Caspian completely changed his attitude toward her. "Ophelia, will you add me on WhatsApp? Are you interested in working for me? How much does he pay you? I'll double it."
Ophelia teased, "Mr. Hawthorne, are you seriously trying to steal Mr. Abbott's employee? You're not fed up with your life, right?"
Caspian laughed. "There you go! That tone of yours proves that you're really his employee. I was just kidding. I would never dare to do that. Ms. Sinclair, do you have a crush on him?"
Ophelia quickly made her stance clear. "No. Absolutely not."
"I don't believe it. Last night, after you were drunk, you touched his chest. Did you long for him but dared not to make a move?" Caspian laughed. "Well, women went crazy for him. So, I won't laugh at you even if you admit it."
"I touched Mr. Abbott's chest?"
"Yeah," Caspian said, "You don't remember what you did? Because you were drunk? Last night, you were touching him all over, and you even vomited on him. At the time, I thought he was going to throw you out, but then he had someone get you a room. I couldn't get it last night, but now I do. I would have done the same for a pretty girl like you."
Caspian was really shocked at the time. No one could do this to Finnegan and still stay OK. But Ophelia was an exception.
No women dared to get too close to Finnegan, not to mention touching him. That explained why all the ladies in the private room last night kept their distance from Finnegan.
Being drunk was fine, and making a fool of oneself while drunk was also fine. The problem was having someone to remind you of what you had done.
Ophelia tried hard to recall last night, and it seemed... She did touch him.
Was she so wasted that she flirted with Finnegan?
'So, am I really doomed this time?' she thought.
