Chapter 407 No Hidden Revenge

When Morgan mentioned Ophelia, he deliberately showed a lecherous expression to anger Finnegan, as if he had done something indecent to Ophelia.

Ophelia had been to the casino twice before, and everyone knew Morgan had a bad reputation. Could a beauty like Ophelia escape from Morgan's casino?

Finnegan's face was expressionless, a hint of killing intent flashing in his eyes. He answered the phone, his gaze fixed on Morgan, and spoke to Ophelia in a gentle tone, "Ophelia, what's up?"

"I wanted to tell you that I'm staying at the old mansion now. I just went to the hospital and saw Dovie." Ophelia said over the phone. "I took some hair samples and am waiting for the test results. How are things on your end? Are you at the hotel?"

"Yes, I'm at the hotel." Finnegan lied. "The lawyer is negotiating the case. Don't worry. Take care of yourself."

"That's good." Ophelia said, noting the unusual quietness on the other end. "Are you resting this early?"

It was an afternoon in the country where Finnegan was. Ophelia found it odd that he was at the hotel so early.

"No, I have to go out later to the police station." Finnegan said, worried that Ophelia might sense something was wrong. "Ophelia, don't worry. Trust me, I won't do anything reckless."

"That's good." Ophelia sighed in relief. "I'll let you get back to it. I'm going to rest for a bit."

"Alright." Finnegan's voice was soothing. "Wait for me to come back."

"Okay."
Ophelia hung up the phone, satisfied, unaware that Finnegan was standing at the gambling table.

Finnegan and Morgan had signed a life-and-death agreement, which was an undisguised revenge against Morgan. If Morgan lost, his life would belong to Finnegan, and even the country's laws wouldn't interfere, as this was an unwritten rule of the underground casino.

Morgan laughed twice, "Finnegan, you should have talked more with Ophelia. After all, you won't have the chance later."

Finnegan calmly put his phone back in his pocket, took out a cigarette, and lit it. "Do you have any last words? I'll give you three minutes to say them, or you won't have the chance later."

Finnegan's composure and aura made Morgan's heart waver. This was a life-and-death game, and Finnegan's fearless and calm demeanor made Morgan uneasy.

However, outwardly, Morgan didn't admit defeat. This was his territory.
Morgan arrogantly said, "Finnegan, this is my turf. I want to see how can you leave."

They weren't gambling on the size of the bet but playing cards.

Finnegan flicked his lighter, took a puff of his cigarette, and exhaled a cloud of smoke. "Let's start."
His tone was always light and breezy, yet not to be underestimated.

They both sat down, and the dealer dealt the cards. Finnegan remained calm while Atticus was sweating bullets.

The dealer dealt three cards to each of them. Morgan looked at his three cards, a pair of kings and an ace.
He smiled and looked at Finnegan. "Finnegan, when I was playing cards, you were still playing in the mud. How many lives do you have to gamble with me?"

Morgan revealed his cards, a pair of kings and an ace. In pairs, except for a pair of aces, a pair of kings was the highest. Morgan's hand wasn't the best, but a pair of kings was very good.

Finnegan had yet to look at his cards. He casually tapped the table and revealed two cards, a four and a five. Seeing these two cards, Morgan laughed triumphantly. "How can you win with those cards?"

Finnegan flipped over the last card, a seven.
These were three scattered cards. Finnegan lost.
The rule was best two out of three, and Morgan won the first round.

Morgan's arrogance flared, and he laughed twice. "Finnegan, you might only have one chance left."

Atticus was sweating profusely. Finnegan remained calm, tapping the table with his index finger. "Deal."

The dealer shuffled the cards and continued with the second round.

In Morgan's eyes, he was already assured of victory.
Finnegan's face showed no signs of panic.

The dealer dealt the cards, and the second round began.
Morgan was still arrogant, with three very good cards, four, five, and six.
When the cards were revealed, Morgan had already drawn his gun. "Finnegan, reveal your cards."

As soon as Finnegan revealed his cards, the game would be over.
Finnegan's cards had already been tampered with. He was destined to lose.

"No need to rush to your death. I'll send you off later." Finnegan flicked the ash from his cigarette, pressing his hand on the three cards and secretly switching them. He revealed them, four, five, and six. "I win."

Both had the same points, but Finnegan's cards were of the same suit, making them higher than Morgan's.
