During the meal, when Natalie went to the bathroom, Dovie followed her.
"Natalie, I noticed you were staring at Ophe, but your expression was off when she first arrived. Do you know Ophe from before?" Dovie asked.
Natalie denied with a smile, "No way, I just met her for the first time. I think this girl is quite capable. Look at how she has Finnegan wrapped around her finger; it's not easy."
It was not praise but sarcasm evident in her tone.
Dovie got the hint and said, "People have relationships with each other. Little Finnegan has a connection with Ophe. They are a match made in heaven."
Natalie sneered. "Dovie, forgive me for being bitter, but what does Ophe have to offer? Besides her good looks, why would Finnegan choose her instead of Niamh? It's really hard to understand. If Finnegan brings her to an event like this, it simply means he's acknowledging Ophe and giving her a position. What does Niamh lack compared to Ophe? Ophe got Niamh locked up in detention, and yet you treat her so well."
"The misunderstanding between Niamh and Ophe was Niamh's own doing," Dovie explained. "There was a woman named Sybil Fletcher who came to cause trouble. She wanted to jump off the company rooftop, but Ophe saved her. Niamh harbored resentment because of this incident, which is quite unreasonable."
Dovie thought Niamh had a grudge against Ophe because of that incident.

"I know." Dovie sighed and said, "I don't know why, but I like Ophe from the first time I met her. When Niamh and Ophe didn't have this conflict, I even thought about adopting Ophe as my goddaughter."
