Chapter 641 Matchmaking
"Where are we going?" Jude asked as he walked towards Finnegan.
In the house, besides Celia and Susan, Jude listened to Finnegan the most.
To put it bluntly, he had no status in this family. Even Ophelia and Warmie were ahead of him.
Finnegan said, "Mom's treating us to dinner tonight. Are you coming?"
"Really?" Jude found it hard to believe. Just yesterday, he had invited Celia to dinner and got kicked out by her.
Finnegan raised an eyebrow slightly. "Are you coming or not?"
"I'm coming." Jude scratched his head. "I'll go change, wash my hair, and tidy up a bit."
Even after being married for so many years, he still needed to make an effort.
Finnegan glanced at the time and said,"I'll give you half an hour."
Jude was left speechless.
"I'm your father, okay? How dare you ask me?"
Jude muttered under his breath but obediently went to change clothes and wash his hair. After taking a few steps, he asked, "Finnegan, where's Ophelia? Didn't she come with you?"
"She went out." Finnegan, holding Warmie, went downstairs to wait. Ophelia had indeed gone out to find Celia.
Finnegan and Ophelia had split up to take action, one to persuade Celia and the other to persuade Jude, hoping to clear up the misunderstanding quickly.
Ophelia had already brought Celia to the restaurant.
Ophelia had tricked Celia, saying that Jude was treating them to dinner. For Ophelia's sake, Celia had come.
In the private room, Celia didn't see Jude and asked, "Didn't you say Jude was treating us? Where is he? The host isn't even here yet?"
"He's on his way," Ophelia said. "He must be dressing up nicely. Celia, don't be anxious. Have some water first."
"I didn't," Celia denied. "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have come to see him."
"Celia, calm down. It's been so long. You and Jude should talk things out today," Ophelia said. "When you caught him cheating with Paula at the hotel, it was actually Lloyd's scheme. Jude didn't do anything; he's completely innocent."
"Ophelia, why are you defending him now?" Celia felt displeased. "I saw it. How could it be fake?"
"Celia, Finnegan and I have known about this for a long time. To prevent Lloyd from doing something worse, we went along with it and encouraged you to divorce Jude."
Ophelia explained everything in detail, "Lloyd's goal in coming back this time was to disrupt the Abbott family. Finnegan pretended to be blind to deceive Lloyd. If it weren't for Tate,, we would still be playing along with Lloyd."
"It was all done by Lloyd?" Celia's mind was still somewhat clear. "Did Jude and Paula sleep together or not? Did they have sex?"
Ophelia said, "Absolutely not."
"They were both naked and in bed together. I saw it. Even if it was a setup, they still slept together," Celia couldn't get over it. "There was surveillance footage showing them entering the room together."
"The people in the surveillance footage weren't really Jude and Paula. They were impersonators from Moonlight Gate."
To ensure that the upcoming meeting would be peaceful and to resolve the conflict, Ophelia explained everything in detail.
Celia couldn't fully understand, but found it incredible that Moonlight Gate had such capabilities.
She knew about Lloyd's ambitions, as he had even kidnapped Warmie and was now globally wanted. Even Finnegan had to pretend to be blind to deal with him, so it was normal for Jude to be set up.
After hearing it all, Celia chimed in, "I've been saying Jude's too nice for his own good. The moment Lloyd resurfaced, I smelled trouble. Thirty years MIA and now he pops back up? He's definitely got some scheme up his sleeve."
"Celia, you have a good eye for people," Ophelia praised. "You're generous and wise. Jude is so lucky to have you as his wife. I'm also fortunate to have you as my mother-in-law."
Ophelia's praise made Celia feel a bit smug, and she said, "Of course, Jude is lucky to have married me. When I was young, there were many people pursuing me."
