Chapter 617 Aria Shows Up

As soon as Landon left, Raymond handed all the documents to Tate. "Tate, take a look at these. Do you remember anything? Do you have any impression of Ruth?"

Tate shook her head. "No. This person was wearing a mask."

Raymond arranged for a doctor to treat Tate, but unfortunately, it had no effect.

"People from the Moonlight Gate rarely show their true faces during missions. Generally, those who have seen their real faces are already dead," Raymond said. "Ruth is the lowest level, but even so, using her just to steal a child is overkill."

Tate asked, "Raymond, who was that person we met at the door?"

Raymond clarified, "Ophelia. You used to be her bodyguard. The child Ruth stole is her daughter, Warmie Abbott."

Realization dawned on Tate. "She's Ophelia," she murmured, recalling the name from a conversation with Caspian.

Despite seeing Ophelia earlier, Tate had no recollection of her.

Tate stayed at the police station for a long time, learning more about other cases related to the Moonlight Gate with Raymond.

This was the first time Tate truly understood how many heinous acts the Moonlight Gate had committed, all documented and on record.

Tate also learned how she was talked about in the underworld: the highest-level assassin of the Moonlight Gate, never failing, killing countless people.

Thinking about how many people she had killed, Tate felt very frustrated.

As they left the police station, Raymond and Tate got into the car. As they drove away, they noticed Ophelia following them.

Ophelia's tracking skills were amateurish at best. One was an assassin, the other a counter-terrorism unit officer, both highly perceptive, so she was easily exposed.

Raymond wanted to shake off Ophelia's tail, but Tate said, "Raymond, she's probably looking for me. She recognized me. Drive to the riverside, somewhere less crowded. I'll meet her."

Raymond was also curious about how Ophelia recognized Tate. "Alright."

Soon, the car stopped by the riverside. Raymond got out and walked away, heading to the supermarket across the street to buy something, which gave them some space to talk.

Tate got out of the car and looked at the car that had followed them. Ophelia parked by the side and got out, walking over. At this point, Ophelia knew Tate was deliberately waiting for her.

"You're Tate," Ophelia said with certainty.

Tate asked, "What's up?"

"Why are you with Raymond?" Ophelia was puzzled. An assassin and a cop shouldn't be so harmonious. Ophelia suspected Raymond have some ulterior motive for Tate.

Tate said, "I can't explain that. Do you have any other questions?"

The amnesiac Tate was a bit more polite to Ophelia.

Ophelia felt a bit surprise and asked, "Don't you really remember anything? I want to know where the Moonlight Gate's headquarters are. Warmie was stolen by the Moonlight Gate."

"Sorry, I can't help you right now," Tate said bluntly. "I haven't remembered the past."

Ophelia held onto a sliver of hope and asked, "Can you identify Lloyd as the founder of Moonlight Gate?"

Tate still shook her head. Raymond wanted to know this even more than Ophelia, but she couldn't remember.

The amnesiac Tate couldn't help with anything.

Ophelia felt deflated and said, "Thank you."

Tate giving her the chance to meet was already something Ophelia was grateful for.

Seeing Tate was doing well, she didn't have to worry anymore.

Seeing Raymond return, Ophelia said to Tate, "I'll be going then."

Ophelia got into her car and left. Raymond walked back and asked Tate, "What did Ophelia talk to you about?"

"About the Moonlight Gate." Tate had seen Lloyd's photo before; Raymond had asked her to identify him, but she couldn't.

"Let's head back," Raymond said, getting into the car and handing Tate a bottle of water. "We have an appointment with the doctor this afternoon for another treatment."

Tate didn't refuse as she also wanted to regain her memory.

The car started, and Raymond drove Tate back. Today was also meant to give Tate some fresh air and test the mask, but it seemed it wasn't very reliable.

Landon didn't recognize her, but Ophelia did.

After they left, someone emerged from the greenery not far away. Raymond and Tate hadn't noticed that someone had been watching them all along, and that person was Aria.
