Chapter 432 Admitting Guilt

New evidence in Dovie's death case has shed light on the situation.

Ophelia took the boy and the woman to the police station and also called Finnegan to update him on the situation.

Upon learning the truth, Finnegan was not surprised. All clues had pointed to Natalie, but there was a lack of evidence.

Even with testimonies and physical evidence, solving the case would still be challenging if Natalie refused to confess.

Finnegan thought of a way to make Natalie speak, saying over the phone, "Ophe, you see."

At the police station, Natalie knew there was no concrete evidence. Once the 48 hours were up, she would be released.

She watched the time. There were only fifteen minutes left.

Natalie sat quietly on the wooden bed, waiting for her release.

In the days since Dovie's death, Natalie had been tormented. Initially, she had hoped Dovie would recover, but then she had violent thoughts towards her.

Natalie and Dovie had grown up together like siblings, with a deep sisterly bond. If she could go back in time, she would never have acted the way she did, and now she regretted it.

However, Natalie still refused to confess. Despite the inner turmoil, her strong-willed nature prevented her from giving in.
As time passed, no one came to set Natalie free.

As time ticked by, Natalie grew anxious and started calling out, "Hey, it's been over 48 hours. You have to let me go."

No one paid attention to Natalie.

After about half an hour, a police officer came over and opened the door where Natalie was held. "Come out," he said.

"Can I leave now?" Natalie asked. "Did my daughter bail me out?"

The police officer remained silent and took Natalie to the interrogation room. "Sit here for now. Once the formalities are done, you can leave."

Natalie didn't think much of it.

After the police officer left, Natalie sat in the chair for a while.

The room was too cold, and Natalie shivered. She wanted someone to adjust the air conditioning, but at that moment, the TV on the interrogation room wall turned on.

Subconsciously, she looked at the TV. The screen showed the intensive care unit, with Dovie lying on the hospital bed and herself standing beside it.

They started arguing.

Seeing this, Natalie turned pale, her legs weak, and her limbs cold.

Natalie stared at the TV as she self-adjusted the IV tube on-screen. Soon after, Dovie couldn't bear it. She coughed up blood, pointed at Natalie, and shouted, "Natalie, Natalie."

In the video, Dovie's eyes were filled with disbelief and accusation, reaching out to Natalie for help.

But Natalie remained indifferent, watching as Dovie took her last breath.
"Natalie, Natalie."

The voice echoed like a haunting melody throughout the interrogation room.

"Dovie, I'm sorry." Natalie's tense nerves snapped like a string, and she was unable to bear it any longer. She knelt on the ground, begging for Dovie's forgiveness.

"Dovie, I didn't really want to harm you. I was out of my mind, Dovie."

Under nervousness and guilt, Natalie finally confessed.

Just as Natalie admitted, the interrogation room door opened. Ophelia, Finnegan, and police officer Landon were standing at the doorway.

Natalie's words and reactions had been recorded by the surveillance camera. Ophelia had been watching everything through the glass wall outside.

When Natalie confessed and knelt down, Ophelia couldn't control her emotions. She hurried over, grabbed Natalie's arm, and angrily exclaimed, "Natalie, how could you do this? She is your sister. You killed my mom. You're a murderer.

Ophelia's eyes were red with anger, and there was a hint of murderous intent in her gaze as she lashed out at Natalie, consumed by resentment.

Finnegan stepped forward, pulled her away, and held her in his arms. The emotional turmoil was too much, especially harmful to a pregnant woman.

"Sister Dovie, I'm sorry." Natalie sat on the ground, powerless.

After days of mental torment, she felt a sense of relief after confessing.

She admitted it, which could also protect Niamh. No one would know that Niamh had harmed Dovie.
