Chapter 580 Personally Catching the Thief
Ophelia and Linda had been gone for a while before she dared to come out of the basement.
Even at home, Niamh didn't dare to act openly.
She pulled all the curtains closed, locked the doors and windows, and only then did she feel a bit safer.
Thinking about her days of hiding, Niamh felt like she was worn out.
Looking down at her belly, Niamh wished she could get rid of the unwanted child. Thinking of this, she punched her stomach, crying out in pain, which only made her angrier.
No matter what she did, she was the one suffering.
Alone in the house, Niamh paused to gather herself in the living room before proceeding to take a bath without reservation. She had been hiding for so long that she didn't even dare to make much noise while bathing.
Now she could finally enjoy a proper bath.
As night fell, Niamh changed into sportswear, put on a baseball cap and a mask. She couldn't stand this life anymore and quietly left the house.
She needed to go out and breathe some air, see the outside world, and talk to people, or she felt she would suffocate.
On the bustling street, no one paid attention to Niamh, and no one knew she was a wanted criminal.
Passing by a bus stop, Niamh saw a wanted poster with her face on it.
Just then, a sharp voice came from behind. "What are you doing? Stop"
Instinctively, Niamh looked back and saw a police officer running toward her.
At that moment, Niamh was almost scared out of her wits.
She wanted to run, but her legs were too weak to move.
Then she saw the officer run past her and tackle a young man who had stolen something at the corner.
Niamh's limbs went weak, her hands and feet cold.Hastily, she pivoted and hastened in the opposite direction, increasing her speed Only when she reached a deserted area did she dare to sit down and catch her breath.
Being a fugitive was unbearable.
Living in constant fear was even more torturous for Niamh.
At the hospital, Ophelia was preoccupied with thoughts about the Parks family mansion, feeling a bit distracted.
Finnegan called her name twice and waved his hand in front of her eyes. "Ophelia, what's wrong?"
"Huh?" Ophelia snapped back to reality and smiled, "Nothing, I might be a bit tired. It's so late. I want to go home and get some clothes. Warmie's formula is almost out."
"Okay," Finnegan said. "Let the driver take you. Don't drive yourself. You can sleep at home tonight and come back in the morning. You've been very tired lately."
"Alright." Ophelia wanted to check on the Parks family but didn't want Finnegan to worry, so she lied.
Her intuition told her that someone was hiding in the Parks family mansion, and it was very likely the person she was thinking of.
Ophelia didn't choose to call the police immediately to stake out the house because this was an opportunity. Having long awaited a chance to seek justice for Dovie, she believed the moment had arrived.
Ophelia urged Finnegan to rest early and took one last look at the sleeping Warmie in the crib before leaving.
Ophelia didn't follow Finnegan's advice to have the driver take her but drove herself instead.
She stepped on the gas and headed straight for the Parks family mansion. It was already a bit late, around nine at night.
Having been married for so long, Finnegan could tell that Ophelia had something on her mind.
After calculating the time, about forty minutes after Ophelia left, he called home and found out she hadn't returned. He then checked his phone to see Ophelia's location.
This was an App installed on their phones after his accident, allowing them to know each other's location at all times, leaving no privacy between them.
Ophelia had been too scared after Finnegan's two accidents, so she installed the software.
Seeing that Ophelia was heading to the Parks family mansion, Finnegan frowned.
Meanwhile, at the Parks family mansion, Opheliaparked the caroutside the neighborhood and walked in.
The house was pitch dark, with all the curtains drawn.
Ophelia remembered that when she left in the afternoon, she didn't pulled down all the curtains.
With this in mind, Ophelia pushed open the gate to the yard, closed it behind her, and proceeded slowly towards the front door. With each step, her heartbeat accelerated.
