Chapter 711 I Miss You Too
When Finnegan saw the birthmark on Lily's waist after lifting her shirt, he let out a sigh of relief and smiled.
He realized he had been overthinking.
Ophelia's return was something he had prayed for countless times, so he shouldn't doubt it.
After making sure Lily was comfortable in bed, Finnegan walked out of the hospital room and carefully closed the door behind him.
He noticed a few missed calls from Susan and Jude on his phone.
Finnegan called Susan back.
"Finnegan, how's Ophelia? I heard she fainted and was taken away by an ambulance," Susan asked anxiously.
"She's fine, just a bit weak and resting. No need to worry," Finnegan replied. "Also, let Jude know that Warmie will be staying at the old mansion tonight."
"Good to hear she's okay. I'll call Jude later," Susan said, relieved. "Should I come by to check on her?"
"Ophelia is still resting. You can come by later when she wakes up," Finnegan said.
"Alright. Take good care of Ophelia," Susan urged. "She has been through a lot. You need to cherish her."
"Of course, I will."
After hanging up, Finnegan went to the smoking area for a cigarette.
Not long after Finnegan left the room, Lily woke up. She looked out the window, knowing some things couldn't be hidden anymore.
Lily took her phone and sent a message: [Come to Yorkhaven.]
After sending the message, Lily made a decision.
Her health was really bad now, and even with surgery, she couldn't bounce back to her old self.
During this time, Lily had deliberately not taken her medication. She was punishing herself, unable to accept Finnegan. Maybe one day, if something happened to her, Finnegan wouldn't be able to bear losing her a second time.
So, Lily planned to make Finnegan hate her.
In the evening, Susan, Jude, and Celia came to visit Lily, worried that Warmie would cry, so they didn't bring her along.
Upon learning that Lily had a heart problem, they were all quite frightened.
In everyone's understanding, heart issues were a big deal.
"The doctor said that with proper care, it shouldn't be a big issue. No need to worry," Finnegan reassured them.
"That's good," Celia said. "Ophelia, you need to take care of yourself."
"Did you call my dad?" Lily asked, referring to Wilder. "Perhaps we shouldn't inform him to prevent unnecessary concern.."
"We haven't called yet," Finnegan said. "You'll need to stay in the hospital for a couple of days for observation. If everything checks out, you can go home."
Lily's intention not to tell Wilder was understood by Finnegan.
"Ophelia, take good care of yourself. Don't worry about Warmie. We've got it covered," Jude said.
"Thank you," Lily said gratefully.
For the next few days, Lily stayed in the hospital, with Finnegan taking care of her around the clock.
Lily's body didn't show any signs of rejection, and the doctor allowed her to be discharged, so she went home to recuperate.
Finnegan wouldn't let her go back to the company and insisted she rest well.
Finnegan was very circumspect, making it difficult for Lily to go out alone.
One day, Lily asked Lynn to go shopping. With Lynn around, Finnegan felt assured and didn't follow.
Lynn was quite surprised as it was the first time Lily had asked her out.
The two met at the mall, with Finnegan personally bringing Lily and handing her over to Lynn before leaving.
"Finnegan is really worried about you now, almost wanting to keep you tied to him," Lynn teased.
"His love is suffocating, making it hard for me to breathe," Lily said, glancing in the direction Finnegan had left.
Hearing this, Lynn frowned, thinking it wasn't a good sign.
"Ophelia, did you two have a fight? Finnegan is just too worried. I heard you were hospitalized a few days ago," Lynn advised.
"No," Lily grinned and smoothly shifted gears. "How about we head over to the women's clothing and check out the latest season?""
"Okay." Lynn felt that Lily had asked her out as an excuse.
The two entered the mall, but Lily didn't really intend to buy clothes. Lynn went to the restroom midway, and Lily waited outside.
When Lynn came out of the restroom, she found Lily on the phone, smiling. As Lynn got closer, she heard Lily say to the person on the other end, "I miss you too."
