Chapter 759 The Final Tranquility
The three of them were as quiet as mice, barely breathing.
Susan mumbled, trying to speak but unsure what to say.
Finnegan had already figured out most of it from their reactions.
He smiled bitterly, a look that scared the others.
Caspian's heart ached and reached out to console him, "Finnegan."
Susan was worried as well. "Finnegan," she called out to him, attempting to console him.
Meanwhile, Tate wanted to speak but hesitated.
Finnegan suppressed the searing pain in his heart, his smile fading into a cold, terrifying expression. He strode toward the ward without a word.
"Finnegan, don't do anything rash," Susan quickly tried to stop him.
Caspian hurried after him and grabbed his arm. "Finnegan, calm down."
Finnegan shot him a cold, sharp look. "Let go."
"Finnegan."
"Let go," Finnegan's eyes were bloodshot.
Terrified, Caspian let go but still tried to reason with him. "Finnegan, Ophelia just had surgery and hasn't woken up yet..."
Finnegan, as if hit in a sore spot, erupted in anger, "She is not Ophelia."
Caspian was stunned, his mind blank, and blurted out, "Yes, she is not Ophelia."
He immediately regretted it.
Caspian wished he could slap himself; now everything was out in the open.
Tate walked over calmly. "Finnegan, acting out like this won't change anything. Let's wait until Lily wakes up."
"When did you find out? How did you find out?" Finnegan's eyes were cold, filled with anger.
Everyone knew and kept it from him.
Tate didn't hide it anymore. "We just found out too, not much earlier than you. Caspian and I came to confirm Lily's identity."
Susan's eyes were wet. She wiped her tears, too scared to talk about Ophelia.
Finnegan could blame anyone but Susan.
He wanted to ask where Ophelia was but couldn't, afraid of the answer.
How could a heart withstand being shattered twice?
It was a pain that felt like a thousand arrows piercing the heart.
In the ward, Lily was still unconscious, waiting for the anesthesia to wear off.
Finnegan stayed at the hospital, waiting for Lily to wake up and explain everything.
Dylan and Gavin were worried Finnegan might harm Lily, so they didn't leave the hospital either.
Susan and the others were also worried Finnegan couldn't handle the news of Ophelia's death and might do something drastic, so they all stayed at the hospital.
Meanwhile, in Yorkhaven, Lynn found out Finnegan wasn't there and that Susan and Lily had gone to Oceanview City, so Finnegan was likely there too.
Lynn had a bad feeling and immediately booked a flight to Oceanview City.
She took Warmie with her, thinking only Warmie might calm Finnegan down if something happened.
Celia and Jude didn't know what was going on. Celia didn't like Lily, so when she saw Lynn taking Warmie to Oceanview City, she agreed to go along.
Together with Warmie, they took the evening flight, arriving in Oceanview City at night.
On the way, Lynn was very anxious. She kept praying nothing would happen.
The closer they got to Oceanview City, the more excited Warmie became. She asked Lynn, "Lynn, are we going to see Mommy soon?"
"Yes, soon." Lynn patted Warmie's head, feeling sorry for her. Warmie was so adorable, which broke her heart.
"Oh, we're going to see Mommy," Warmie said happily.
Celia said, "Warmie, take a nap. I'll wake you when we get there."
"I'm not sleepy." Warmie shook her head, preferring to look out the window.
The plane was in the sky, and it was nighttime, so it was pitch black outside, but Warmie still liked to press her face against the window.
Lynn was deep in thought. Celia asked, "Lynn, are you feeling unwell? You don't look good."
"I'm fine." Lynn forced a smile.
Celia, being careless, didn't think too much about it.
When the plane landed at Oceanview City airport, Warmie had already fallen asleep.
Lynn hailed a cab that took them back to the city. She asked Celia to call Susan to find out where she was so they could meet up with her first.
The cab passed by the seaside, and as they did, Warmie suddenly woke up. She looked at the sea outside the car window and called out, "Mommy."
