Chapter 643 Knowing the Death of Aria

When the gunshot rang out, everything was over.

Aria ended her short life, and on the other side, Tate seemed to have a psychic connection, feeling a sharp pain in her heart.

Tate instinctively clutched her chest and looked up out the window, seeing a white dove fly by.

There was an unwritten rule in the prison: every time a death row inmate was executed, a white dove would be released.

The white dove represented hope and peace, which was also a blessing for the death row inmate.

With the dove flying by and the sound of the gunshot, Tate knew that a death row inmate had been executed today, but she didn't know who it was.

After that day, during the inmates' outdoor time, Tate never saw Aria again.

She asked the warden and Raymond, and they both said that different inmates were held in different places and had different outdoor times.

At first, Tate believed them, but one day while eating, she overheard other inmates talking about someone being executed on the day of the sentencing, and that person lived in the cell next to Tate's.

Hearing this, Tate was stunned. She couldn't believe it was true.

Tate grabbed the inmate who had just spoken and asked, "Say that again, who was executed? Who was it?"

During her time in prison, Tate had kept a low profile, always quiet and well-behaved, trying to earn good behavior points.

But now, Tate's eyes were filled with a murderous intent, her expression chilling.

The inmate stammered, "It was number 8602. She was executed. I just heard about it."

8602 was Aria's code number in prison.

Everyone here had no names, only code numbers.

Hearing this, Tate felt as if all her strength had left her, her body swaying.

A prison guard noticed something was wrong and raised his baton. "What's going on? Behave."

The guard thought a fight was about to break out.

But Tate let go of the inmate and looked sharply at the guard. "I want to see Raymond. Tell him to come see me."

'Raymond had lied to me. How could he lie to me?' she thought.

Tate's emotions were getting out of control, her mind filled with the fact that Aria had been executed.

They had promised to see the outside world together, but Aria had broken that promise.

Raymond had just returned from a mission and, upon learning that Tate was causing trouble in prison, rushed to see her.

Tate was temporarily placed in solitary confinement. In the dark, enclosed room, she sat on a stool, leaning on the table. It wasn't until she heard footsteps that she slowly raised her head.

"Raymond, is Aria dead?"

She wanted to hear Raymond admit it himself.

Tate asked this as his sister, trying to get Raymond to tell the truth out of familial love.

Raymond stared into Tate's eyes, couldn't fib, and just stayed quiet. Tate's heart dropped, her eyes stayed dry. "Why'd you lie to me?" Even with her tough exterior, Tate got choked up.

She was filled with guilt as it was she who had persuaded Aria to turn herself in. If Aria hadn't done that, she would at least still be alive.

Raymond pursed his lips and said, "Tay, I didn't want you to be upset, and neither did Aria. I had arranged for you two to meet, but she refused the final goodbye because she didn't want you to be sad. She said that if you were free, she would be free too. She wanted you to see the world for her."

Tears rolled down Tate's cheeks. She turned her head and wiped her tears with her hand. She knew Aria's wish, but it was too heavy for her to bear.

Tate couldn't stop crying, and Raymond didn't know how to comfort her. He sat beside her and said, "Tay, live well. When you get out, you can start over. You are Sandra Stewart, and you will have a new life."

Tate didn't speak. The thought of Aria's death made her heart ache.

She hadn't accepted Aria's feelings, but she understood them.

After a long time, Tate calmed down and asked, "Where are her ashes buried?"

"I buried her ashes in a cemetery in the suburbs. In a few months, I'll apply for a furlough for you so you can pay your respects to her." Raymond had buried Aria's ashes for Tate and to thank Aria.
