Chapter 604 Spoiling Tate
Raymond speculated, "Were your memories erased by someone from Moonlight Gate?"
Tate shook her head. "I really don't know. It doesn't matter, Raymond. Whether you say I killed someone or I'm some kind of assassin, just give me a quick end, and I'll accept it."
"We won't let any bad person go, nor will we wrong any good person," Raymond said. "Think carefully. Can you remember anything? If you provide significant information, you might get a reduced sentence."
Tate looked at Raymond and earnestly tried to recall, but her mind remained a blank slate.
"When you were electrocuting me, I could recall a little, but it slipped away quickly," Tate said. "You can try electrocuting me again."
Raymond, thinking Tate might be his sister, didn’t mention anything about that. Instead, he said, "Just rest for half an hour. Everything will be revealed then."
"What's in half an hour?" Tate didn't know.
Raymond didn't mention the identification.
Half an hour later, the results came in.
Raymond had Jerry watch over Tate while he went to get the results.
Seeing the results, Raymond was overwhelmed with joy. He and Tate shared a blood relationship. They were siblings.
Tate was the Sandra he had been searching for all along.
Raymond, ecstatic, also felt a pang of guilt. He had subjected his sister to severe interrogation, causing her to faint four times. He wanted to slap himself.
Holding the identification report, Raymond quickly walked to the hospital room, his face showing uncontrollable joy. He excitedly pushed open the door, and said, "Jerry, you can leave now."
Jerry saw Raymond's joyful expression and the way he looked at Tate, as if he wanted to do something to her. He was puzzled but said nothing and left, closing the door behind him.
Once Jerry was gone, Raymond showed the DNA test results to Tate. "You're not Tate. You’re my sister, Sandra Stewart. Here are the results. And that scar on your arm. I failed to watch over you, and you got burned. Sandra, I’m your big brother."
Tate was stunned as it was such a big surprise to her.
The Raymond who had been torturing her to death was now her brother?
She had family?
There was no way the DNA test could be fake. The head of the counter-terrorism unit wouldn't joke about this.
Tate frowned. "I don't remember."
"It doesn't matter if you don't remember. I do," Raymond said happily. "I've been looking for you all this time, and now I've finally found you. I'll take you home later to meet your second brother and little sister, and our parents."
Suddenly being told she had so many relatives was overwhelming for Tate.
Tate voiced her doubt, "I'm your sister? Then how did I end up in Moonlight Gate? Didn't you say I was the highest-ranking assassin in Moonlight Gate?"
"When you were six, I took you and our second brother hiking, and you got lost. Later, I found out that many children of the same age had gone missing across the country, all taken by an organization called Moonlight Gate. I figured you were there, so I’ve been investigating Moonlight Gate all these years."
Raymond had feared Sandra would die in the brutal training of Moonlight Gate.
He had previously captured Moonlight Gate assassins and knew how they were trained.
He was shocked and grateful that Tate was his sister and relieved she was alive, yet heartbroken for her suffering.
She must have suffered greatly and endured inhumane training to survive.
Tate didn't feel much emotionally. To her, Raymond saying she was his sister was the same as saying she was a suspect or an assassin. She knew nothing and was completely confused.
Seeing her confusion, Raymond said, "Sandra, from now on, I'll protect you. I won't let you suffer anymore. Come home with me."
Tate asked, "I'm a Moonlight Gate assassin. I've killed a lot of people. Are you going to let me go because I'm your sister?"
This question stumped Raymond.
Before knowing she was his sister, he was determined to break her.
Now that he knew, everything had changed.
Raymond said, "You're suffering from amnesia now, and there's insufficient evidence. The people from Moonlight Gate know you've been captured by the police and will likely silence you."
"Stay with me, and I’ll protect you. I’ll help you recover your memory. When the time comes, you can provide clues to dismantle Moonlight Gate. You'll have contributed and will be treated leniently."
"I won't let anything happen to you. I believe you're a good person and wouldn't do bad things. Besides, when Deacon was killed, there was someone else with you. It must have been that person, not you."
He had finally found his sister and wouldn't let her suffer anymore.
Tate was silent.
'So this is what favoritism feels like?' she thought.
