Chapter 242 Distressed
Ophe returned to the room and changed her clothes. Finnegan followed her into the room and closed the door behind her before going to prepare a bath for Ophe.
Finnegan was very attentive to these details. That was why Ophe trusted him so much.
Finnegan even went as far as putting rose petals in the bathtub, testing the water temperature, and walking out to say, "Ophe, the water is ready."
"Okay."
Ophe tucked her hair behind her ear and went in. Finnegan intentionally stood by the bathroom door and teased her as she passed by him, "How about we take a bath together? It'll save water."
Ophe tapped his chest, "What kind of scheme are you plotting? You're the one who will suffer later." During the first three months of pregnancy, sexual intercourse had to be forbidden, as it could negatively affect the baby. "Hurry up and leave. I want to take a bath," Ophe said, "My whole body smells like Japanese food."
After spending the entire day in a Japanese restaurant, it was inevitable that her body would smell like Japanese food. Finnegan didn't joke with her anymore and went out to prepare her clothes.
Ophe only soaked in the bathtub for ten minutes before getting up, rinsing herself off, wrapping a towel around herself, and looking at the mirror. She noticed that her eyebrows were a bit messy, so she used an eyebrow razor to tidy them up.
The eyebrow razor was too quick, and Ophe accidentally cut herself, leaving a small gash. A drop of blood immediately emerged. Ophe quickly rinsed it with water and then wrapped her finger with a tissue.
It was just a small cut. As long as she didn't pay it any mind, it might heal by tomorrow.
However, when Ophe walked out, Finnegan noticed her bandaged hand and asked anxiously, "What happened?"
"I accidentally cut myself with a blade earlier; it's nothing, just a small scratch." Ophe took off the tissue, and within moments, the bleeding had stopped.
Finnegan frowned, "An injury is not a small matter; it can easily lead to tetanus. Sit still, don't move. I'll get some alcohol to disinfect it."
'Is that necessary?' She thought.
Outside the door, Lynn was secretive as she pressed her ear against the door, carefully listening. She actually heard some movement. Ophe said, "Be gentle. It hurts!"
Finnegan replied, "Hold on, it'll be over soon."
These two sentences entered Lynn's ears, and images that children shouldn't see immediately appeared in her mind. Lynn already had a condition of angina, and she was stimulated. Her face turned pale, and she felt a sharp pain when she heard that.
Ophe was pregnant, and they could still do that. Lynn continued to listen.
Ophe said again, "Yours is too big; it really hurts. Don't move, I'll do it myself."
"Okay."
Lynn found these words even more stimulating. Lynn's face grew paler, and her chest started to ache, causing her to struggle to stand. She leaned against the wall for support.
Lina, who was cleaning the house, noticed Lynn's discomfort and quickly went over to assist her. "Miss Lynn, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Lynn waved her hand, frowning with pain. It was difficult for her to speak, but she managed to say, "Help me back to my room. The medicine is in my room."
Whenever she experienced pain, Lynn relied on medication to alleviate it.
Lina worried that something serious had happened, so she asked, "Should I inform Mr. Abbott's and take you to the hospital?"
Lynn shook her head and insisted that she didn't need to go to the hospital.
Lina helped Lynn back to her room.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Finnegan disinfected Ophe's finger wound with alcohol and applied a band-aid. Only when alcohol touched the wound would Ophe cry out in pain.
The band-aid Finnegan had brought was too large and inconvenient to wrap around the wound. Finnegan worried he would cause her more pain, so he carefully handed the band-aid. Finally, Ophe decided to dress the wound herself.
However, those words were prone to misunderstanding.
After Ophe finished dressing her wound, Lina knocked on the door from outside. "Mr. Abbott's, Mrs. Abbott's."
Finnegan opened the door. "Lina, what's the matter?"
Lina explained, "I saw Miss Lynn acting suspiciously at the entrance earlier, and she didn't look well, as if something had upset her. She mentioned chest pain, and although I suggested taking her to the hospital, she refused to go. So, I should inform you and check on her."
Lina worried that something might be wrong.
"It's an old ailment of hers; she'll be fine once she takes her medicine. Lina, get some rest. You don't need to worry," Finnegan reassured her. He knew the reason why Lynn experienced her angina attack just now.
Ophe walked out and asked, "Is she really okay?"
Finnegan replied, "It's nothing to worry about. She can go back to her room and rest."
