Chapter 461 Humility
The guest was very tough in attitude and even made the waitress cry.
The waitress was a young girl who had just started working in the restaurant not long ago. Inexperienced, she lowered her head and cried because of being scolded by the guest while apologizing constantly.
When Ophelia heard the guest's words, something occurred to her, and all she could think of was the guest's words about food incompatibility.
Food incompatibility could harm organs and damage one's health, which was exactly the cause of Dovie's death.
Dovie experienced organ failure in a short period.
Ophelia quickly handed Warmie to Addison and walked in, saying to the guest, "I'm very sorry. I am the owner of this restaurant. I heard you say that our dishes are not fresh and there are issues with the combinations. I apologize for the negligence of the restaurant. I am so sorry. I will have the dishes removed now and get you some other food. As an apology, all your expenses today will be waived."
There were three guests in the private room, two men and a woman.
The troublemaker was a man in his thirties or forties. Although he spoke sternly and angrily, he still maintained some manners.
Seeing Ophelia drinking, Addison quickly said, "Ophelia, you just had a baby recently. How can you drink?"
Upon hearing this and seeing Ophelia, the owner of the restaurant, being very sincere, the male guest's anger subsided a bit.
He said, "We came here to eat, so we naturally can afford a meal. As the owner here, you should be more responsible for the customers in your restaurant. I heard that your restaurant's dishes taste good. I am also a chef and came here specifically to try them, but what you offer is really disappointing. Your head chef doesn't even understand the basics of side dishes, and the ingredients are not fresh. How can you provide customers with these? You are using frozen farmed fish as wild fish, which is deception."
Ophelia looked at the fish on the table, which was the new dish that Addison had suggested to her last time.
The frozen farmed fish was five times cheaper than wild fish. Ophelia couldn't help but glance at Addison again.
Addison hurriedly explained, "This is definitely wild fish. When the delivery came yesterday afternoon, I took a look myself. It was live fish. We have been cooperating with the supplier for a long time, and they always deliver this kind of fish."
The male guest, who did not buy it, got angry again. "With the recent weather changes, wild fish is almost nonexistent this year. I have been a chef for nearly twenty years and started as an apprentice at fifteen. Whether the ingredients are fresh, wild or farmed, I can tell at a glance."
Even Addison couldn't explain it clearly. She said to Ophelia, "Ophelia, I would never pass off inferior goods as superior. You know me I would never do such a thing."
Ophelia believed in Addison. But whether the fish was farmed or wild, Addison probably couldn't tell either, so the problem lay with the supplier.
It needed to be dealt with later. Calming the male guest down was the top priority.
And Ophelia had some things to consult him about, so she said very sincerely, "I'm really sorry for the negligence in my restaurant this time. May I have your name and have a word with you? I have some questions I'd like to ask you."
The male guest said, "My name is Randy Wright. Let's talk about this matter first. If your restaurant continues like this, it will eventually go out of business. Running a restaurant is mainly about ingredients, and what really keeps customers is the taste."
Ophelia was humble. "Thank you for your advice. I will carefully consider your opinions, Mr. Wright. Could we have a word? I would like to ask you about the food incompatibility, and I will replace the dishes for everyone. I'm really sorry."
Seeing Ophelia apologizing so humbly to the guest, Addison felt truly sorry. She was the manager, and she should have handled these matters.
Randy saw that Ophelia had been very polite all along and looked at the child in Addison's arms, who was very cute and made him feel less irritable.
"Alright. It's good for you to be able to admit mistakes and accept advice wholeheartedly," Randy said, "If you have any questions, go ahead."
Ophelia, with the child, had to take care of the catering business, which was the most tiring. Randy kind of had sympathy for her and didn't say much more.
