Chapter 495 She Panicked
Natalie was out on medical parole. The police would definitely notify Niamh.
Ophelia sat still. She heard Niamh talking to Landon outside the door, then pushed the door in.
Seeing Ophelia, Niamh was also stunned for a moment. She didn't expect Ophelia to be here.
Ophelia slowly turned around, her eyes sharp as she stared at Niamh.
Just one glance made Niamh inexplicably uneasy.
At the banquet last time, Niamh found out that Ophelia already knew the reason for Dovie's illness. Ever since, Niamh has been very afraid, afraid of her secrets being exposed, afraid that Ophelia will find evidence.
"Niamh." Natalie tried to get up, but she didn't have the strength.
Ophelia didn't help her, and Niamh didn't dare to go over. Just as Natalie managed to get up a bit, she fell back down.
"Mom." Niamh came to her senses and went over.
Niamh deliberately walked to the other side of the sick bed. Natalie reached out and grabbed Niamh. "Niamh, what are you doing here? I asked you to manage the business in Europe. Well, how is it going?"
Natalie was strong-willed. She still hoped that Niamh could expand the business, surpass Parks Corporation, and take back Parks Corporation.
"Everything is fine. Jesse is helping to manage it." Niamh asked, "Mom, how did you get sick? What did the doctor say?"
Niamh had just arrived and really didn't know what had happened to Natalie.
When Landon informed her, he just said that Natalie was seriously ill in the hospital.
At these words, Natalie's heart skipped a beat, her expression changed slightly, and she subconsciously glanced at Ophelia and Landon standing at the door.
Obviously, Niamh's question made Natalie uneasy. Once she mentioned her illness, similar to what happened to Dovie before, if Niamh panicked, revealed a flaw, and was caught, it would be disastrous.
"I'm fine." Natalie was about to say it was nothing.
But Ophelia cut in, "Your mom's illness is similar to what my mom had before, with various organs starting to fail. I had the doctor examine your mom, compare her case with my mom's, and investigate carefully. How did both of them get the same illness? Was it genetic, or..."
Ophelia intentionally didn't finish her sentence, her gaze shifting between Natalie and Niamh.
Sure enough, Niamh felt guilty, subconsciously pinching Natalie's hand. Natalie thought it and, afraid that Niamh would make a mistake, immediately started coughing violently.
As Natalie coughed, clutching her chest and gasping for air, looking like she was about to suffocate, her eyes rolled back, and she fainted.
Seeing this, Landon shouted 'Doctor' at the top of his lungs.
Soon, the doctors rushed in.
Ophelia and Niamh were both asked to leave the room, and the doctors began to resuscitate Natalie.
Niamh was restless, even harboring malicious thoughts, hoping that Natalie would die like this.
Only when she was dead would there be no evidence, and the things she did to Dovie and Natalie with the food would never be proven.
Ophelia glanced indifferently at Niamh and said, "I feel sorry for your mom. She's fighting for her life in there while her daughter is here hoping for her death."
At these words, Niamh's face changed drastically. She looked at Ophelia in horror, wondering how Ophelia knew.
"What nonsense are you talking about? That's my mom in there. How could I hope for her death?" Niamh denied, her tone sharp as she retorted, "Ophelia, my mom was fine before. It must be you who did something to my mom in prison. You hate my mom. You bribed the police."
"Niamh, please be careful with your words." Landon walked over and happened to hear this. "Slandering the police and tarnishing the police's reputation will lead to legal consequences."
Niamh suffered a setback and could only swallow her words, not daring to say anything more.
What Niamh feared most now was encountering the police. She had caused the deaths of several people, and Landon was still investigating Sybil's case.
Even though Rex had scapegoated Seraphina and Magnus, Sybil's case had not been closed yet.
Dovie had been dead for a few months, and Natalie suddenly fell ill, casting doubt on Dovie's death.
Of course, Niamh would feel uneasy.
