Chapter 668 Fair Treatment

Eugene's love ran deep but was quiet. He wouldn't hold Tate and cry like Barbara did, but his love for her was just as strong.

Tate pursed her lips and looked at Eugene, saying, "Dad."

Her voice was a bit raspy. In Tate's memory, she had never called anyone that before.

She had parents and a brother now. She wasn't an orphan anymore.

The word "Dad" brought tears to Eugene's eyes. "Tate, my daughter, you've been through so much."

Tate's eyes also welled up. She realized there were so many people who loved her.

Barbara and Eugene didn't want to leave; they wanted to stay with Tate a bit longer. The family reunion in such a humble place made Barbara and Eugene feel both heartbroken and distressed.

They already felt they owed Tate, and now they could only watch her in prison, unable to do anything.

Visitation had a time limit, and even with Raymond's guarantee, they couldn't stay forever.

With reluctance in their eyes, Eugene and Barbara told Tate to take care of herself and promised to visit often.

On the way back, Barbara's eyes were still red. Whenever she thought of Tate, she couldn't help but cry.

Barbara leaned against Eugene's chest. "Honey, we have to bring Tate home as soon as possible and make it up to her. She's been through so much. Last night, Raymond told me about Tate's past, and I can't even imagine the hardships she endured. Just thinking about it breaks my heart."

Eugene held Barbara's shoulder and sighed. "Yes, she has suffered. But on the bright side, at least our family has a chance to reunite. That's already a blessing."

These words comforted Barbara.

Back home, Barbara started looking for interior designers and workers. She wanted to renovate Tate's room and redo the backyard and terrace, preparing to welcome Tate back at any time.

Thinking about all the suffering Tate had endured, Barbara decided to decorate the room in a warm style with pink and yellow tones, making it cozy and sweet to heal Tate's unhappy childhood.

To create a large walk-in closet for Tate, Barbara combined two rooms, which meant Karen had to move to the second floor.

The standalone house had four floors above ground and two below, with over a thousand square feet of garden space in the front and back.

When Karen got home and found her room emptied, she was stunned. She asked the housekeeper, "Where are my things? What's going on? Are we renovating?"

The housekeeper replied, "Mrs. Stewart said she wanted to renovate. Your things have been moved to the second floor. The two rooms here are being combined to make a large walk-in closet."

Hearing that the closet was being expanded, Karen was overjoyed. She had wanted a larger closet before, but her parents hadn't agreed, thinking it was too much trouble.

She thought the renovated room was for her and was very happy.

Karen smiled and said, "I'll go find her."

Barbara was in the backyard, thinking about digging a pond to plant water lilies. That way, when Tate returned, she could see the water lilies in the backyard from her bedroom, which would surely lift her spirits.

"Mom." Karen found Barbara and said happily, "You're finally renovating my room. You didn't tell me in advance. Were you trying to surprise me?"

"It's not for you but your sister, Tate." Barbara felt much better thinking about Tate coming back to live in the future. "I'm renovating the room so your sister will be comfortable when she comes back. You wanted a larger closet before, so I had the workers combine the yoga room with your room on the second floor. The area is the same."

Barbara wanted to be fair and also give the best to Tate, so she decided to renovate Karen's room as well, making their room sizes equal.

"Tate?" Karen was stunned. "Mom, it's not for me? I don't like the second floor; I like the third floor. The view and orientation are the best. I want my original room."

After boss's baby, she Escape
