Chapter 378 Dovie Faints
Finnegan's incident in France triggered a series of chain reactions.
Ophelia experienced complications with her pregnancy, and Celia was taking care of her in the hospital. Although Celia was harsh with her words, she did everything necessary.
Lynn saw the news and called Ophelia. Upon learning that Ophelia was hospitalized, she rushed over immediately.
Lynn also didn't believe that Finnegan would do such a thing and comforted Ophelia, "Don't worry, everything will be fine. Even I couldn't seduce Finnegan. He's not someone who lacks self-control."
Lynn was telling the truth, not because she thought she was better than that woman, but because she believed Finnegan wouldn't do such a thing.
Ophelia was anxious. "I believe him too, but he can't return to the country now. I don't know exactly how he's doing abroad. Atticus is working things out over there, but I'm worried he won't be able to get Finnegan out. I'm thinking of going to France myself."
"In your condition, how can you go?" Lynn said, "You need to take good care of yourself and the baby. I just heard Jude talking to Old Abbott on the phone. Even though Old Abbott is retired, if she takes over the company, these things will be minor issues for her."
As long as Finnegan couldn't return to the country, Ophelia couldn't stop worrying. She was still experiencing bleeding and couldn't be discharged from the hospital.
Ophelia had to be patient and stay in the hospital to protect her pregnancy. She called the company staff to learn about the situation and asked them to do everything possible to suppress the scandal.
Finnegan's incident also shocked Niamh.
At a certain club, Niamh saw the news on TV and looked at Deacon in surprise. "I didn't expect Finnegan to do such a thing. That woman has a plastic face. Is Finnegan really interested in such a woman? I really want to see Ophelia's reaction to this news."
Deacon crossed his legs and habitually smoked a cigar. "It doesn't matter what she looks like. As long as this woman accuses Finnegan of rape, if he's convicted, according to the law of France, Finnegan will face at least three years in prison. Finnegan may be a big shot in the business world, but everyone makes mistakes. If he falls into this trap, he can only accept it."
The method that brings down opponents is always the simplest.
Niamh asked, "With Finnegan's power, he can't fall because of this. Can't he pay some money to settle it? Isn't money all that woman wants?"
Deacon laughed, "You're thinking too simply."
Niamh didn't understand. "Isn't this woman afraid of harming herself? Finnegan is ruthless. If he gets out of prison, he'll definitely retaliate against her."
"That's a problem for the future. Right now, Abbott Corporation's market value has evaporated by at least two billion dollars. That's the least of it. This incident has such a big impact that Finnegan's position as CEO is probably unstable." Deacon hummed a little tune, clearly in a good mood.
Niamh found it unbelievable that Finnegan could fall because of such a small matter. If she had known, she wouldn't have had to lose her two fingers.
Finnegan's incident also made Oscar very happy.
In the backyard of the Abbott Family's old mansion, Oscar saw the news online and was so happy that he almost jumped up. He quickly made a phone call. "Was this your plan? It's really great. Finnegan has finally been framed. Even if he gets through this time, he'll never wash away this stain. Let Mary keep accusing. Let Finnegan pay for it."
Oscar was too excited. Seeing Finnegan harmed made him happier than anything else.
In Parks Corporation, Dovie also saw the news and immediately called Jude to inquire, "I saw the news online. Finnegan is in trouble. He's still in the France, right? What's the situation now?"
"He's still over there and hasn't been released. This happened too suddenly." Jude sighed, also anxious. "Old Abbott has already gone to the company to stabilize the situation. Ophelia had complications with her pregnancy because of this and is hospitalized."
"Ophelia had complications? What's her condition now? Which hospital is she in?" Dovie was very worried.
"The General Hospital. Celia is taking care of her there." Jude said. "I have to go to the company to pick up Old Abbott, who isn't in good health either, and I'm worried she'll get sick from the stress."
Finnegan was the head of the family. With him down, Jude realized how much of a failure he was as a father. He had accomplished nothing and still had to rely on the eighty-year-old Old Abbott.
Dovie naturally wouldn't sit idly by and said, "I'll go to the hospital to check on Ophelia first."
After the call, Dovie got up, but suddenly, her vision went black, and she felt dizzy before losing consciousness.
