Chapter 250 Make Something Out of Nothing

Tobias's attitude was also firm.

Magnus was livid, as he was a lawyer who relied on reason and evidence to persuade others.
However, he was powerless when he faced Tobias, who was unreasonable.

Magnus didn't argue with Tobias and went into the house, headed straight to the bedroom, where he rummaged through drawers and cabinets in search of the property deed.

After searching for a while, he couldn't find it.

Tobias and Riley also entered the house, stood in the living room, and heard the sounds of Magnus rummaging through the bedroom. They knew exactly what Magnus was looking for.

Tobias had long hidden the property deed.

Magnus walked out and said, "Give me the property deed."

Riley forced a smile and said, "Magnus, we're all family. We're just looking out for your well-being, afraid that you'll be too burdened."

Magnus couldn't bring himself to say harsh words to her. In his eyes, she was the victim, and he felt both sympathy and heartache for her.

Tobias asserted, "We're all thinking about your best interest. Are the house and possessions more important than family?"

This remark made Magnus laugh out of anger.

Before he could say anything, Tobias continued, "We gave birth to you. You have a responsibility to support us. The house is your way of showing respect."

"Tobias, you may not give me the property deed, but don't expect to sell the house either," Magnus said. "As long as I don't agree or sign, the house can't be sold."

Serenity watched videos on a tablet in the room, came out, stood at the door, and called Magnus when she heard them arguing.

Magnus saw Serenity and didn't want to continue to argue with Tobias because he feared it would have a psychological impact on her.

"Serenity, I have something to handle. Please sleep early," Magnus said and left.

Then, Riley scolded Tobias, "You've angered Magnus again. He just came back for a visit."

"Let him go. It's better that way." Tobias dismissed it.

Jett called out from the room.

Tobias and Riley entered the room when they heard him.

Jett said, "The property deed for this house is in Magnus's name. Without his agreement, we really can't sell the house."

"I'm his father. Shouldn't I have a say?" Tobias became extremely irritable and angry.

Riley suggested, "Well, what if we don't sell it then?"

"Not sell it? When will we be able to buy a villa then?" Tobias muttered loudly, "I've already made promises to people in my hometown that I will buy a villa in the county. If I don't buy it now, Do I have the dignity? And how will we find a wife for Jett?"

Riley didn't dare to respond.

Jett suddenly had a malicious thought when he saw Serenity standing timidly in the living room.

"Tobias, I have an idea. Let Magnus transfer the house to Serenity. I am Serenity's father, so then we can sell it."

Previously, it had just been words to have Serenity recognize Magnus as her father, but legally, it wasn't the case.

Tobias eagerly asked, "What idea?"

Jett said, "Serenity, come in. I want to talk to you."

Serenity walked inside and replied timidly.

Jett said with a smile, "I want to ask you how your uncle is treating you. Has he been bullying you? Did he do anything while you were sleeping at night?"

Serenity didn't know Jett's intentions and answered honestly, "He tells stories at night. He treats me well and encourages me to become a useful person in society."

Serenity was happy when she mentioned Magnus. It was obvious that she liked him as her father.

"What else?" Jett pressed on, "Has he done anything else?"

Serenity shook her head and said, "No."

Jett furrowed his brows and pushed Serenity lightly. "Has your uncle hugged you or touched you at night?"

Tobias and Riley's faces changed when they heard that.

Riley said, "Magnus would never behave like that."

Tobias sneered. "Maybe it's impossible. Are these types of people scarce in our hometown?"

Whether it was true or not was not important to Jett. What he wanted was to turn the nonexistent into existent.

As long as there was a hint of crossing the line, it could be used as a gimmick.

Serenity nodded and said, "Magnus hugged me."

Serenity didn't understand what the adults meant, but she only knew that when she did things well, Magnus would hug her and encourage her.

Jett laughed and said, "As long as he hugged you, that's good."

Jett excitedly said to Tobias, "Tobias, let's use this evidence to force Magnus to give up the house. Otherwise, we'll sue him and let him not survive in New York. He's a lawyer; he must be afraid."
