Chapter 236 Rose Garden
After resolving things with Lynn, Finnegan hurriedly went to the Japanese restaurant to appease Ophe.
On the way to the restaurant, Finnegan felt a bit uneasy. He even went to a flower shop to buy a bouquet, hoping to please Ophe and put her in a good mood.
He had even prepared a script for an apology. However, when he arrived at the Japanese restaurant, he saw Ophe warmly welcoming customers and not the slightest bit angry.
Ophe acted as if nothing had happened. When she saw Finnegan carrying flowers, she smiled and asked, "What's the special occasion today? You are so romantic, and you even bought flowers for me. Put them in a vase when you go back."
More customers arrived, and Ophe greeted them and said, "Please come inside. How many of you are there?"
"Ophe." Finnegan couldn't help but pull Ophe aside and said, "Caspian told me that Lynn came to see you today. Aren't you angry?"
Ophe shrugged. "Are you buying flowers to please me because you think I'm angry? Finnegan, you're too practical. Are flowers usually too expensive for you?"
"Ophe, you're not angry?" Finnegan confirmed again.
"Why would I be angry?" Ophe said generously. "You have good taste. Lynn is beautiful and elegant, and she's a prima dancer. I've watched videos of her dancing, and she's stunning."
"She's moving into Orchid Garden tomorrow," Finnegan said. "I just saw her."
Ophe stopped abruptly, and her eyebrows furrowed. "Repeat what you just said."
"Lynn is moving into Orchid Garden tomorrow. She just returned and didn't have a place to stay, so she'll be staying at Orchid Garden temporarily." Finnegan mustered up the courage and said, "I had Lina prepare a guest room on the first floor. Tomorrow, someone will pick Lynn up and take her to Orchid Garden."
Finnegan's decision surprised Ophe. Finnegan chose to room for the rival in the same house, much to Ophe's displeasure.
Sensing the jealousy, Finnegan felt a bit nervous and worried about angering Ophe. However, her envy made him secretly happy. It was the first time he had seen Ophe feeling envious.
Their relationship had been going too smoothly. It had only been a month since they had been together and got married. Ophe never had a chance to be envious.
Finnegan was afraid of making Ophe angry, but at the same time, he wanted to see if Ophe cared about him. He was torn between these conflicting emotions.
After thinking for a few seconds, Ophe stared into his eyes and asked, "Do you like her?"
Finnegan shook his head. "No, I only have you in my heart. There is nothing between me and her, neither in the past nor in the future."
Ophe continued staring at Finnegan for a while, then calmly said, "That's good. It's up to you."
Ophe agreed quickly which surprised Finnegan. "Ophe, you're not angry?"
"I'm not angry," Ophe replied. She wasn't angry, but she had doubts in her heart. If Finnegan didn't say it himself, she wouldn't ask.
Ophe believed that Finnegan must have had his reasons for arranging for Lynn to stay at Orchid Garden.
Finnegan couldn't figure out Ophe's true thoughts. Women were often contradictory in their words and minds. Just because she said she wasn't angry didn't necessarily mean she wasn't feeling that way.
To ensure that Ophe was pleased, Finnegan spent half a day negotiating with the developers of Orchid Garden. The next day, the name was changed from "Orchid Garden" to "Rose Garden."
Lynn moved into Rose Garden the next day. At the entrance, she saw a group of workers removing the sign and name of the neighborhood. "Orchid Garden" was taken down and replaced with "Rose Garden".
The property staff was overseeing the process.
Lynn approached them and asked, "What are you doing? Why are you changing the name?"
The property staff glanced at Lynn and said, "Higher-ups decided this. The previous name wasn't good, so now it's changed to Rose Garden. It's so much better."
Looking at the removed "Orchid Garden" and stepping on it, Lynn felt a bit uncomfortable. She had just moved in, and the neighborhood name had already changed. Of course, she knew why this happened.
Besides Finnegan, who else could make the name change overnight?
