Chapter 197 Pregnant

Finnegan glanced at Ophe's stomach and sighed helplessly.

Ophe noticed his gaze and lowered her head to look at her stomach. She brooded, 'If he is sighing because I had gained weight, is he disgusted of me?'

During the day, he used to say that he didn't mind whether she was fat or thin.

During Ophe's contemplation, the car had already reached the hospital.

At night, there were only emergency doctors at the hospital, and they were faster at treating urgent cases.

Finnegan used his connections to make an appointment so Ophe could go in to see the doctor directly.

Finnegan accompanied her inside.

The doctor was a woman in her forties. As soon as Ophe sat down, the doctor started asking about her symptoms, "What's troubling you?"

Ophe said embarrassedly, "I have a slight fever, fatigue, and some cold sweats."

It was just a minor ailment. Ophe used to never go to the hospital for such things, at most just buying some cold medicine from the pharmacy.

Only Finnegan was anxious and insisted on taking her to the hospital for a minor ailment.

The doctor asked again, "Are you pregnant?"

It was a routine question for female patients.

Ophe glanced shyly at Finnegan, then said, "No."

"Doctor, please schedule her for a check-up," Finnegan interrupted Ophe and said to the doctor, "Her period has been late for over half a month."

Hearing this, Ophe looked at Finnegan with surprise. How did he know that her period had been late for over half a month?

Moreover, she hadn't even realized this herself yet. She had been busy looking for shops, finding a house for Magnus, and she had truly forgotten.

The doctor said, "Then, go for a check-up first and bring the report to me later."

The doctor scheduled the check-up. Finnegan thanked her and then pulled Ophe, saying, "Let's go, let's check your blood on the second floor."

When Finnegan arrived earlier, he had looked at the hospital's directional signs roughly and knew where to go for the blood test.

Thus, he pulled along Ophe to get her blood tested. Because it was an emergency, they could get the report in just over twenty minutes.

When the report came out, Finnegan went to get it. Ophe didn't even get a glimpse of it.

Finnegan held the report in one hand and led her to the doctor to discuss it.

Ophe was still in a feverish state, and her mental state wasn't very good. But when she heard the doctor say, "Congratulations, you are pregnant," she suddenly felt alive again.

During this period, Ophe hadn't noticed at all that she had become pregnant without any warning signs.

She immediately looked at Finnegan, but he seemed very indifferent as if he had known all along. He had a smile on his face as he said to the doctor, "Thank you. My wife is pregnant. She can't take any medication in her condition, right? What should we do about the fever?"

"You shouldn't take medication casually. Drink more water and rest more," the female doctor said. "Don't worry, this kind of low-grade fever is not serious. It's a normal reaction that occurs after the immune system weakens during pregnancy."

"Okay, thank you."

Throughout the entire time, Finnegan communicated with the female doctor, asking about how to relieve Ophe's fever, precautions for pregnant women among other things.

Ophe's mind was in a mess, overwhelmed by the surprise.

She looked down at her belly, then at Finnegan. Was she really pregnant?

This time, it couldn't be false.

She was really pregnant with Finnegan's child.

Ophe had a feeling of deja vu, and this feeling was too familiar.

When they walked out of the hospital, Ophe finally came back to her senses. "Finnegan, you knew I was pregnant early on? It's me who is pregnant, not you. How can you know better than me?"

Finnegan lovingly rubbed her head and said, "Who let me marry a careless wife? Of course, I believe in my ability."

Ophe was speechless.

She finally realized why he said the baby couldn't tolerate the cold at home.

He meant the baby was in her belly.

No wonder he hadn't asked her to do push-ups lately. He was afraid of hurting the baby.

Ophe asked him seriously, "Finnegan, do you really like the baby? Didn't you say that you don't like babies, that raising a baby is a loss?"

"I like it." He held her shoulders and smiled. "Ophe, congratulations, you're a mother now."

He then placed his hand on her belly again. "When I had a hunch that he was coming, I was filled with anticipation and joy. Ophe, thank you for giving me this joy."
After boss's baby, she Escape
