Chapter 231 Sow Discord
Caspian's heart skipped a beat. Ever since the news of Lynn's return came out, he had a feeling that trouble was brewing and that there would be problems.
He didn't expect it to happen so soon and for him to get involved.
What was Lynn doing in Ophe's restaurant? An ex-girlfriend and a current wife, wasn't this just asking for trouble?
No, to be precise, Lynn was not Finnegan's ex-girlfriend. They never officially announced it, but everyone could tell that they were a perfect match and were close. There was no need for explanations, but everyone knew what was going on.
Caspian was not the only one who knew Lynn. These friends who came with him today all had a relationship with Finnegan and grew up together.
They all saw Lynn and exchanged glances.
'Shouldn't we all be eating this sushi today?' They pondered.
Ophe noticed something was off with the group's expressions and asked in confusion, "What's wrong with all of you? Is it the private room on the third floor or the one you were sitting in before?"
Caspian furrowed his brows and signaled to his friends. "You guys can go up first."
Those friends hurriedly left, escaping the potential trouble.
Everyone knew that Finnegan's wife was Ophe, and Lynn was the ex. They had appeared together. It was not good to offend either of them.
Watching the figures of a few people slip away, Caspian felt a bit angry.
Ophe looked at Caspian standing in place, furrowing her brows. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. It's just been a long time since I've seen you. I wanted to catch up and talk with you." Caspian smiled awkwardly. "Ophe, how about you come eat with us?"
"I won't eat for now. My stomach is still full," Ophe said. "You guys go ahead."
Caspian didn't dare to leave. Lynn and Ophe were here. He was afraid that the two of them might fight or that Lynn might say something inappropriate.
Caspian laughed foolishly and was about to say something. But Lynn suddenly stood up and said, "Caspian, why don't you sit at this table and eat with me?"
Ophe also froze for a moment when she heard that and looked around at them. "Do you guys know each other?"
Lynn knew Caspian; what did that mean?
Ophe figured out what was going on and looked at Lynn in surprise. Everything suddenly made sense.
So, she was the reason why Lynn came to the sushi restaurant every day.
She was Finnegan's exceptional ex-girlfriend and the national champion of Latin dancing with both looks and talent.
She was a stunning beauty who possessed both beauty and talent.
No wonder she felt disdain in Lynn's tone earlier.
Lynn knew that she was Finnegan's wife.
Lynn generously admitted, "Yes, we know each other. We've known each other for many years."
Caspian forced a laugh. "Yeah, we know each other. What a coincidence, you're also here to have sushi."
Caspian laughed until his facial muscles stiffened. 'This is so awkward.' He brooded.
Ophe smiled and said, "Since we're all familiar, we should sit down and chat. I'll have the waiter bring two more sets of utensils."
Ophe indeed did that. She sat down to eat with them, not allowing herself to be nervous about her rival.
Caspian sat on Ophe's left and Lynn on his right. His heart felt like it was exploding. 'Why is it always me who gets involve in this love triangle?' He brooded.
Suddenly, Lynn deliberately said to Caspian, "When was the last time we had a meal together? It seems like it was five years ago at Finnegan's birthday party. Time flies. It's already been five years. I heard Finnegan got married, Caspian. Is it true? It seems like his wife isn't some heiress from a prominent family. She used to be just his secretary. They got married and still live in Orchid Garden? I casually mentioned that I liked that neighborhood, and he actually bought a place there."
Caspian smiled awkwardly and pondered, 'You're intentionally sow discord between Ophe and Finnegan by saying these things.'
Lynn pretended not to know that the person standing in front of her was Ophe, Finnegan's wife.
Caspian chuckled awkwardly and glanced at Ophe. Ophe maintained a calm expression, as if she was just a bystander, sipping her water and listening to their conversation.
Caspian winked at Lynn, signaling her to refrain from speaking thoughtlessly, and then awkwardly said, "Fate comes as it does, and no one can stop it. Her background doesn't matter; the most important is Finnegan's choice. Lynn, Finnegan is married, so let's not bring up old matters. I heard that you've been doing well abroad. As soon as you came back, you are promoted to a chief position..."
