Chapter 338 Sybil's Email

Ophelia and Finnegan walked out of the police station, while Linda and Atticus headed back to the company first.
Ophelia said, "Just now, it was obvious that they wanted to close this case without a resolution. If so, Sybil would die in vain. This matter must be related to Niamh."

"This case must be investigated, but not in a straightforward manner." Finnegan reassured Ophelia. "If the case involves Niamh, with Niamh and Ricky's two families behind, do you think the chief would dare to investigate this case with no evidence and no background on Sybil? You and Sybil were just colleagues."

Sybil's relatives couldn't possibly come to help with the investigation. With Sybil dead and her parents gone, under the influence of Niamh's family, Sybil was nothing. Who would be willing to waste resources investigating such a small case?

If Ophelia hadn't stepped in and gone to the police station, this case would have been closed directly. If it weren't for the ignorance of the subordinates that alarmed Ophelia, Sybil's body would have turned into bones, and no one would have known she had died.
That's the reality.

Ophelia also knew that, but just the thought of Sybil's death made her feel uneasy. "I will find the killer who murdered Sybil and not let her die in vain."

Finnegan wanted to advise Ophelia, but as the words reached his lips, he said nothing.
Whatever she wanted to do, he supported.
In the past, Finnegan wouldn't have cared about someone irrelevant. But since it was someone Ophelia cared about, he would support her to the end.

Sybil's death had been haunting Ophelia, making her restless. After they visited Old Abbott in the hospital, Ophelia went back.
Old Abbott was gradually recovering, and there was nothing serious. Just needed to be observed in the hospital.

With Addison watching over the Sakura Restaurant, Ophelia didn't need to go there every day. She now only cared about who killed Sybil.
The area where Sybil had the incident had no surveillance as a killer wouldn't act openly.

Ophelia couldn't imagine how terrified Sybil must have been facing death.
She also blamed herself for not answering the phone.

Back at the Rose Garden, Ophelia felt uncomfortable. After much thought, she called Landon without telling Finnegan and arranged to meet him.
Ophelia wanted to visit where Sybil had lived before, as they must have investigated it already, and Landon accompanied her.

An hour later, Ophelia and Landon met at the entrance of the neighborhood where Sybil lived.
Respectfully, Landon said, "Mrs. Abbott."

"You can just call me Ophelia, no need to be so formal." Ophelia said. "Thank you for coming here."

"It's my duty." Landon replied, "This way, please."
Ophelia's pregnancy was obvious, and Landon was extra careful as he led her to Sybil's residence.
The police had already surveyed the place, but there were no useful clues at the moment.
It was a simple single room, clean and tidy, with almost nothing extra besides daily necessities.
There was a computer on the desk and a few clothes hanging in the closet, showing how poor a life Sybil had lived before.

Landon said, "The deceased Sybil lived here for a few months before her death, with no fixed job, and owned a van, which was parked not far from the incident site when it happened. Her social circle was simple. Apart from conflicts with Niamh from Parks Corporation, there were no other social issues."

It was only the two of them there, which was why Landon dared to say this.

Ophelia asked, "Have you questioned Niamh?"

Landon shook his head. "A clever killer wouldn't leave traces. We've checked the traffic cameras around the incident site, and there's no sign of Niamh. I also secretly inquired and found evidence that Niamh was not present yesterday. She was at a club called Coll last night, arrived at 8 p.m., and left this morning."

Frowning, Ophelia asked, "Could it not be her?"

With Sybil's incident, Niamh was the prime suspect, and Ophelia hadn't considered any other possibilities.

Landon replied, "That's the evidence we have at the moment."

As Ophelia brushed past Sybil's computer desk and opened the window, looking outside, she clenched her hand slowly, recalling some memories with Sybil, the time of their interviews, and the time when they had meals in the cafeteria together.

At that moment, Ophelia's phone rang, signaling an email notification.
Checking her phone, she was shocked to see the sender of the email.
It was Sybil.
After boss's baby, she Escape
