Chapter 618 The Antidote Comes
Aria stole the antidote from Moonlight Gate headquarters. Tate would gradually regain her memory as long as Tate took it .
Aria had been following Raymond for two days before finally confirming that the person with Raymond was indeed Tate.
Aria didn't dare to act rashly. Raymond was in counter-terrorism unit so Aria couldn't understand why would he parade Tate around.
Although Tate was wearing a mask, it wasn't impossible to recognize her. At least Aria could tell.
Aria didn't identify Tate by her face but by her build and some subtle behaviors.
Aria had been Tate's shadow for ten years, so she was very familiar with her.
Confirming that Tate was fine, Aria was both delighted and worried. She suspected Raymond was using the amnesiac Tate.
Aria didn't dare to act rashly and could only keep following. Only by determining Tate's residence would she have a chance to approach her. This task was only half done.
Aria's tracking skills had really been honed over the years. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to stay by Tate's side for ten years without being discovered.
Tate was sent home by Raymond, who then left to attend to his duties. He couldn't stay home all the time.
After Raymond left, Tate changed her mask to free her face. Realizing that she had been recognized by Ophelia, she started working on a new mask.
Just as she finished making a new mask, the doorbell rang.
Raymond had changed the code, so Karen couldn't come. 'Who could it be?' she thought.
Even at home, Tate wore a mask, this time different from the one she wore when she met Karen last time.
Since Karen's last visit and the code change, no one had come.
Tate looked through the peephole and saw that it was indeed Karen.
And she was accompanied by an older woman, who looked like her mother.
Tate didn't want to open the door. But given Karen's temper, if she didn't open it, Karen would keep ringing the bell, so she opened it.
Karen looked at Tate, puzzled. "Who are you?"
'Why did this woman look different from the last one?' Karen thought.
Karen had specifically brought her mom, Linda Parker, to see what kind of woman Raymond was hiding at home.
Linda hadn't wanted to interfere. She was glad that Raymond finally had a girlfriend and didn't care what his girlfriend was like or what her motives were. In her eyes, Raymond was so dull, only good at catching criminals, so Linda thought his girlfriend couldn't have other motives for Raymond.
But Karen kept nagging, persuading her to come, so she did.
Linda looked at Tate, then at Karen. "Is this the girlfriend of Raymond you mentioned?"
"It wasn't this one last time," Karen whispered to Linda, then asked Tate, "Who are you, and why are you in Raymond's house?"
The question was exactly the same as before.
Tate remained silent.
She didn't even bother to answer, saying, "Raymond isn't home. If you need something, call him yourself."
With that, Tate walked back inside.
Although Tate looked difference from last time, her cold attitude remained the same.
This confused Karen, and she thought, 'Had Raymond changed girlfriend again? Why did he always choose this kind of woman, aloof and showing no politeness?
Karen had Linda sit down. This time, she didn't argue with Tate but said to Linda, "Mom, you should call Raymond. I'm afraid he'll be upset with me again."
"You, afraid of Raymond, yet always provoking him. I told you not to come, but you insisted," Linda scolded.
Karen stirred the pot and said, "Mom, don't you think Raymond is acting strange? It's only been a few days, and he has another girlfriend, and they're both so aloof and impolite. Isn't that odd?"
Linda said, "We're just strangers. She doesn't need to treat me well. Don't make trouble for Raymond anymore."
"Mom, aren't you even a bit curious about that woman just now?" Karen asked. "Raymond won't change girlfriends so frequently. There must be something fishy going on.'"
"That girl just now was quite pretty." Linda glanced at the room Tate had entered and inexplicably got up to walk over.
Linda didn't know why, but she just wanted to see what Tate was doing.
When she saw Tate reading a book, looking serene and peaceful, Linda felt a strange sense of familiarity.
Linda saw something familiar in Tate but couldn't pinpoint what it was.
Tate noticed Linda, lifted her eyelids, and looked over. "Do you need something?"
Linda, feeling a bit guilty, smiled and said, "No, you go ahead and read. I won't disturb you."
Inexplicably, Linda added, "I'm Raymond's mom."
Upon hearing this, a strange light flashed in Tate's eyes.
