Chapter 344 Each Has Their Plans

Dovie's words made Natalie's heart pound, extremely shocked, her face full of disbelief.
'The fact that I gave birth to a child is something no one knew, how could Dovie know?' she thought.
Natalie, feeling guilty, had a hint of panic in her eyes.
Dovie, however, remained calm, just staring at her, waiting for an answer.
Natalie quickly composed herself, calmly saying, "What are you talking about? I don't understand. Why would I have a child? Are you mistaken or confused?"
Natalie did not admit it.
"Mistaken?" Dovie smiled, then spoke to her late husband's photo, saying to herself, "I'm mistaken."
" Dovie?" Natalie was confused by Dovie's reaction, feeling flustered inside. "What's wrong with you today?"
Dovie glanced at Natalie, insinuatingly saying, "Today I heard that Niamh successfully negotiated a deal and signed it smoothly, which is great. She's a good successor, truly a credit to the Parks family."
"Yes, the deal was closed." Natalie chuckled. "A couple extra points were added. Dovie, as Niamh has potential, you can trust her with the company."
"The Parks family has an unwritten rule that the right of succession is passed down to the eldest daughter. As Niamh is the only child of this generation, naturally she is the sole heir. There's no rush." Dovie was delaying, also observing whether Niamh was qualified to inherit.
She didn't doubt herself. Although Dovie was getting older, she was not confused, as she already had suspicions. And the evidence provided by Finnegan today directly confirmed her guess.
Niamh was not her daughter, but she was indeed a member of the family because Niamh was Natalie's daughter.
Dovie knew it well and she didn't need to prove anything, just recalling the bits and pieces of these years would suffice.
Her daughter hadn't come back. Instead, it was Natalie's daughter who returned.
Natalie felt there was more to Dovie's words, but couldn't grasp the meaning.
"Alright, Dovie, you have the final say in this matter. Back then, I wasn't qualified to enter the company. Now as Niamh is your daughter, of course, you have the final say. I'm just her aunt. I can't intervene in that." Natalie's tone was a bit sarcastic.
Dovie didn't respond to Natalie's sarcasm, lowered her head, and caressed her late husband's photo, looking thoughtful.
Natalie saw the man in the photo, feeling a chill down her spine.
If she hadn't taken the child away back then, Dovie's husband wouldn't have died in a car accident.
Feeling guilty, Natalie averted her eyes and said, "You should rest early. I'll go back to my room."
"Alright." Dovie nodded, without looking at Natalie again.
Natalie left, feeling a bit flustered.
Hearing the footsteps of her leaving, Dovie looked up at the closed door, and murmured to herself, "Natalie has always been strong-willed. If she speaks the truth, as her elder sister, how could I not believe her? If Niamh is truly suitable to take over the company, I will certainly step aside."
Dovie was somewhat dissatisfied that although Natalie's daughter was right in front of her, for the sake of the company, she preferred not to acknowledge her.
'If my daughter returned, how could I bear not to recognize her?' she thought.
Dovie didn't confront Natalie, if Natalie didn't admit it, then so be it.
However, the observation period for Niamh would be extended.
As everyone had their selfish motives, Dovie naturally wanted to find her own daughter and leave the company to her.
That night, Natalie tossed and turned, worried that Dovie seemed to know something.
'Otherwise why would she suddenly mention the child I had given birth to?' she thought.
Natalie couldn't figure it out. 'How did Dovie know about the existence of that child?'
'What exactly does Dovie know?'
'Why didn't she continue to inquire just now?'
'Does Dovie have doubts about Niamh's identity?'
Natalie was restless. It seemed she had to speed up the process and let Dovie hand over the company to Niamh as soon as possible.
The next day, Dovie got up very early, sitting in the dining room waiting for Natalie and Niamh to have breakfast.
"Mom, you're up so early." Niamh came downstairs, smiling, and went over to cuddle Dovie's neck and kiss her.
Dovie smiled, then looked at Natalie who followed behind. "Natalie, sit down and have breakfast."
Natalie was a bit jealous, seeing her daughter get close to someone else, and she felt a bit uncomfortable.
The three sat down to have breakfast together. Niamh affectionately spread jam on bread for Dovie. "Mom, here you go."
"I don't eat jam," Dovie smiled. "Give it to Natalie. She likes it."
Niamh handed it to Natalie. "You have it."
Natalie accepted with a smile, and said to Dovie, "Look how considerate Niamh is becoming, always giving you things first."
"Well, she's engaged, so things are different now," Dovie said, "I've thought about it. I'll talk to Ricky's parents and move the wedding date up."
After boss's baby, she Escape
