Chapter 456 Baby Trafficking Case
Niamh ignored Caspian and walked straight out.
"Niamh, stop right there." Caspian grabbed Niamh's arm. "Tell me, what are you doing here?"
Niamh shook off Caspian's grip. "What I do is none of your business."
"Still so temperamental," Caspian sneered. "You are no longer the heiress of the Parks family. That's my sister-in-law, Ophelia. Your temper hasn't changed. I see you haven't suffered enough yet, Niamh. I warn you. You need to adjust that arrogant attitude of yours and stop causing trouble for Ophelia and Finnegan. Behave yourself and show some self-awareness."
Niamh's face turned pale with anger as she glared at Caspian. "My affairs are none of your concern."
With those words, Niamh left in a huff.
Caspian snorted coldly and went upstairs.
With Niamh's temper, she would eventually pay the price. Self-awareness is crucial. With it, one is able to make wise decisions.
Carrying a gift, Caspian knocked on the ward door. "Ophelia, Finnegan, congratulations. You have a baby girl now."
Seeing someone enter, Ophelia wiped away her tears, and Finnegan tucked her in.
Not knowing the situation, Caspian noticed the tense atmosphere and joked, "Are these tears of joy? Where's the little one? Finnegan, I want to see what the baby looks like."
Finnegan approached, put his arm around Caspian, and led him out to talk. "Lucky is next door. Ophelia is not in a good mood, so let's not disturb her."
"What's going on?" Caspian looked puzzled.
"It's Magnus," Finnegan said. "Magnus is dead. Ophelia is upset because both her childhood friends, Seraphina and Magnus, had left her."
Caspian understood. "How could this happen? And by the way, Finnegan, I saw Niamh downstairs just now."
"Niamh is here?" Finnegan frowned, his expression turning serious.
At that moment, Tate approached. "Mr. Abbott, Zoey has been handed over to the police. The situation has been roughly clarified. This Zoey is related to a baby trafficking case that the police have been tracking. Her accomplice was also arrested by the police about fifteen minutes ago. They were supposed to make a delivery today. Zoey was responsible for finding the source, and the other party originally wanted a baby boy, but the hospital only had the baby girl born to Ophelia at the moment."
Caspian was bewildered and frightened. "Tate, what's going on? A baby trafficking case? How terrifying! Are they really so audacious to target Finnegan's daughter?"
"Zoey is unaware of the Abbott family's identity. Otherwise, she wouldn't dare to do this. Zoey only entered this hospital a month ago."
Tate explained, "Such a major case cannot be carried out by one person. In the hospital where Zoey was previously, over two years, more than a dozen babies were reported as deceased, but after an investigation by the police, it was revealed that all these babies were alive and had been sold to various parts of the country."
The police had been tracking this significant baby trafficking case for a year and finally cracked it today. All individuals involved in this case were apprehended.
Caspian gasped in shock, "Finnegan's daughter was almost sold? Damn, these people are really pushing their luck."
Before Tate mentioned the incident, Finnegan initially suspected Niamh, but now it seemed that Niamh was not involved in this matter.
Finnegan's expression turned serious. "Don't let Ophe know about this. It's all over now, so as not to worry her. Tate, go back to the police station and check on Magnus's case."
"Sure, no problem," Tate left the hospital again.
Caspian looked at Finnegan and asked, "Did Magnus offend someone? He's just a lawyer."
"It's a complicated matter." Finnegan patted Caspian's shoulder and said, "Lucky is with my parents. See her yourself. I'll stay with Ophe."
"You should be with her. Finnegan, don't care for me. I'll go see Lucky on my own."
Caspian was considerate.
