Chapter 343 Exposing Natalie's Secrets
Although this truth was extremely cruel for Dovie, he had to tell her as she had the right to know.
'I couldn't let an impostor continue deceiving her by pretending to be the Parks family's heiress,' Finnegan thought.
Finnegan handed Dovie a cup of coffee. "Dovie, forgive me for taking the liberty to tell you the truth."
"She really isn't my daughter." Dovie had already guessed these past few days, but she didn't expect the confirmation to come so quickly. "Then where is my daughter? Where is she?"
The thought of her biological daughter's whereabouts, whether she was doing well, suffering, or being mistreated, tore Dovie's heart.
From Dovie's tone, Finnegan sensed something more. "You've had suspicions for a while already?"
Dovie didn't give a direct answer. She quickly composed herself and said, "Finnegan, this is quite sudden. I hope you can help keep this secret."
"That's not a problem." Finnegan asked, "What do you plan to do?"
After a moment of contemplation, Dovie said, "The Parks family currently needs an heir."
Finnegan understood her meaning.
Even if Dovie wasn't her biological daughter, she wouldn't expose it now. At least until the biological daughter was found, Niamh would still be the Parks family's heiress.
Finnegan raised his teacup and took a sip, his tone turning colder. "Dovie, this is your family matter. How you handle it is not for me to intervene. However, Ophe almost got into trouble this time. If I find evidence linked to Niamh, I won't show any mercy. I hope you understand when the time comes."
"What do you mean?" Dovie inquired. "Finnegan, are you saying that Ophelia's recent incident, where she was almost drugged, is related to Niamh? How is that possible? Niamh wouldn't do such a thing."
Finnegan glanced lightly at Dovie, as he didn't expect that even after knowing Niamh wasn't her biological daughter, she would still defend her.
Setting down his cup, Finnegan's tone turned grim. "Let's hope so. By the way, Sybil died in a car accident, crushed by a car just like her mother years ago. Before Sybil's accident, she had been tracking Niamh."
As the words were clear enough, Dovie couldn't misunderstand.
Dovie was horrified. "Finnegan, are you suggesting that Niamh killed Sybil?"
"You would know whether Niamh would do such a thing." Finnegan's voice grew heavier. "I can overlook whatever Niamh does. But if she tries to harm Ophelia, she deserves the worst. Be prepared for that."
Finnegan was both warning Dovie and implicating Niamh in advance. If something happened later, it wouldn't be his fault.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Dovie said, "Finnegan, I will get to the bottom of this and give you an explanation."
Initially thinking Niamh was just spoiled, with the recent events unfolding, Dovie now realized that Niamh's coldness and cruelty were beyond her imagination.
When Dovie returned home, it was already late. Niamh and Natalie had come back from dinner and were already resting.
Dovie sat alone on the bedroom couch, pondering the events of the night. She took out a photo of her deceased husband, gently caressing it, and murmured, "Where is our daughter? Did I make a mistake?"
In the middle of the night, Natalie noticed a light coming from Dovie's bedroom. Curious why she hadn't gone to bed yet, she approached and knocked on the door.
"Dovie, are you asleep?"
After a few knocks, finding the door unlocked, she pushed it open.
Seeing Dovie reminiscing about her late husband's photo, she asked, "Thinking about my brother-in-law again?"
The man in the photo had deep features and blue eyes, and was clearly of mixed heritage.
Dovie put away the photo, wiping the tears from her eye. "He passed away many years ago, but I still dream of him often. He was a gentle and loving man, a rare find. If it weren't for losing our child back then, your brother-in-law wouldn't have died in a car accident while searching for the child."
" Dovie, it's been so many years, and you still haven't let go." Natalie comforted her. "With you like this, how can he rest in peace in heaven? Now that Niamh has been found and you are reunited, he would be happy."
Dovie looked at Natalie with a conflicted glance and asked, "After all these years, when do you plan to bring back your child?"
