Chapter 640 Reconciliation
Raymond, after seeing Tate, also went to see Aria and told her about her possible fate.
A deep fear of death flashed in Aria's eyes, but then she eagerly asked, "What about Tate? You're her brother. You have to save her."
"She'll be fine, at most three years," Raymond saw Aria's concern for Tate and said, "Thank you for taking the blame for Tay. It's because of you that she has a chance of regaining freedom. I didn't tell her about your fate as I don't want to upset her."
"Don't tell her." Aria shook her head. "As long as she's okay, that's all that matters. For us, as long as she's alive and free, then I'm free too. Those things were my doing. Tate is always too kind to be ruthless. But if she hadn't show her ruthlessness, Lloyd wouldn't give her the antidote. I'm her shadow, so naturally, I had to do those things. This is my deserved punishment."
Raymond said, "When the verdict comes down, I'll arrange for you two to meet for a final goodbye."
Aria said nothing more as she was willing to face death.
Tate's rejection hit Caspian a bit hard, but he didn't abandon her. He still did his best to help with Tate's case.
Before Tate's trial, Ophelia went to see her.
Ophelia knew Tate wouldn't be inside for long. After some small talk, she said to Tate, "I'll wait for you to come out."
"Okay." Tate pressed her lips together and asked, "I caused Finnegan to go blind. Don't you resent me?"
"His eyes have long since healed," Ophelia smiled and shook her head. "If it weren't for you, that day when he came back from the dock, it wouldn't have been just blindness. He told me it was you who fired the first shot, and you did it on purpose."
Tate nodded, admitting, "But that time, I didn't really intend to let him go. I wanted to draw out the person behind me. At that time, I didn't know it was Aria."
"None of that matters now," Ophelia said. "If you need anything, just tell me."
"Okay, thank you." Tate remembered something and asked, "When did Finnegan find out that Lloyd was the founder of Moonlight Gate?"
Ophelia didn't hide it and said, "He always had suspicions. He confirmed Lloyd's identity after his surgery when Deacon was silenced for the first time. Anthony was the one who did it, and Finnegan was there. He saw the silver bracelet on Anthony's wrist."
Tate smirked, "Lloyd probably never thought he was exposed so early."
Lloyd indeed never thought so. Even now, Lloyd still believed it was Tate and Aria's surrender that exposed his identity.
Moonlight Gate was heavily damaged, under attack from both Rivonia and Country F, and with a huge bounty on their heads, they lost many people. Lloyd only had to hide.
Lloyd was globally wanted, so Jude naturally found out and was shocked.
Jude never imagined that Lloyd would be an international fugitive.
He went to find Susan, worried that she couldn't handle the truth, but to his surprise, Susan already knew.
"Mom, when did you find out?" Jude was puzzled. "Did you really know all along about what Lloyd did? Why did he do it? We're family. Why did he do this? He kidnapped Warmie and harmed Finnegan."
"These are all consequences of things I did when I was young," Susan sighed. "I hope Lloyd can repent."
"I even wanted to set up Lloyd and Paula back then. Good thing it didn't work out, or Paula would have been in trouble."
Susan was at a loss for words.
"Have you forgotten how Paula blackmailed you?"
Jude might not be very capable, but at least he was kind and always thought of others.
"That's all in the past," Jude said. "Even if it happened again, if I saw her in danger, I'd still help. Otherwise, I'll feel guilty."
Susan was exasperated. "And what about your divorce with Celia? Don't you feel guilty about that?"
Thinking about it made Jude frustrated and helpless. He had explained to Celia many times and tried to make amends, but she wouldn't accept it.
At that moment, Finnegan walked over and said, "Dad, come with me."
