Chapter 607 Lloyd Was Careless
"No," Finnegan spoke frankly.
If he had any evidence, he wouldn't have summoned Raymond to this meeting.
Raymond remained silent.
"Finnegan, why do you believe Lloyd is the founder of Moonlight Gate?" Raymond inquired.
"Deacon is a member of Moonlight Gate, and the first person to kill Deacon was Anthony, who is always by Lloyd's side," Finnegan said seriously. "At that time, I saw the silver chain on the sniper's wrist, the same one Anthony wears. Raymond, I know you are eager to dismantle Moonlight Gate, and our goals are aligned."
Raymond pondered and asked, "Why would you report Lloyd?"
"To protect my family," Finnegan said, his expression somber. "Raymond, I've given you all the clues I know. The rest is up to you."
Naturally, Finnegan wouldn't disclose the grudge between Lloyd and the Abbott family. As long as Lloyd remained a suspect, Raymond wouldn't let him off the hook.
With the police watching, Lloyd would have to be more cautious.
"Did someone Lloyd hired blind your eyes? He's your uncle. Why would he do that?" Raymond inquired further. "I can't simply take your word for it. Whether Lloyd is the founder of Moonlight Gate or not, I will verify it myself."
"That's a question only Lloyd can answer," Finnegan said. "Why would he harm the Abbott family?"
Raymond remained silent.
"Tate is the key, Raymond. You must protect Tate. Once she recovers her memory, all your doubts will be resolved," Finnegan reminded him. "Moonlight Gate will stop at nothing to silence Tate. You might also become a target."
Finnegan chose to tell Raymond to give him a heads-up, ensuring Lloyd wouldn't escape.
Now, everything depended on Tate remembering and providing clues.
Raymond finished his coffee and slammed the cup on the table. "If they dare to come, I'll make sure they won't leave."
Thinking of the inhumane training Tate had endured at Moonlight Gate, transforming her into a merciless killer, Raymond wished he could eradicate Moonlight Gate entirely.
Over the years, he had been searching for Moonlight Gate's headquarters.
At the Abbott family, Ophelia returned from the company and noticed Finnegan's presence. She asked, "How did the conversation with Raymond go? And what about Tate?"
"She's undoubtedly alive, but the details remain unclear. Raymond didn't disclose anything," Finnegan replied, motioning for Ophelia to come closer.
Ophelia walked over and sat beside him.
Finnegan held Ophelia's hand and said, "Tate still holds value. Raymond will keep her."
"But once she loses her value, won't she..." Ophelia hoped Tate would be safe. "Finnegan, although Tate is a killer for Moonlight Gate, she has also helped us."
"I know, and we will repay that kindness." Finnegan gently squeezed Ophelia's hand. "But for now, we have to take it one step at a time."
"All right. By the way, Lloyd has moved out, and Tate is missing. Should I still pretend to be sick?"
Finnegan analyzed, "Lloyd is currently overwhelmed. Without finding Tate, he won't bother to trouble the Abbott family. You can stop pretending to be sick for now."
Finnegan was correct. Lloyd had been extremely anxious in recent days.
He had dispatched several teams to track Tate's whereabouts, but there was no news.
They only found out that Raymond had taken Tate into counter-terrorism unit, and then there was no further information.
As Lloyd was fretting, Anthony rushed in. "Master, we found out that Raymond took Tate out of counter-terrorism unit. She's not there."
Lloyd asked sternly, "Then where is she?"
"In K Prison, one of the top ten prisons in the world," Anthony said, his worry evident. "Master, no prisoner has ever not confessed in that prison. It's impregnable. Our people can't get in to silence her."
This news deepened Lloyd's seriousness.
"Immediately notify everyone to evacuate the headquarters to prevent counter-terrorism forces from finding us," Lloyd ordered. He couldn't take the risk. Even with Tate's memory erased, there was no guarantee she wouldn't remember.
Lloyd was now deeply regretful for for him being careless. He shouldn't have shown mercy to Tate.
