Chapter 359 Pleading with Ophelia

Celia snatched Jude's phone and did not allow him to answer.
Moreover, Celia hung up the call directly.

On the other end, Dovie was extremely anxious. 'If it was delayed any longer, Niamh might not survive.' She thought.
Dovie called again, and Celia hung up once more.

Seeing the frequent calls, Celia was very angry and confronted Jude. "Tell me clearly, what is your relationship with her? Why is she calling you?"

"How would I know why she's calling if you won't let me answer?" Jude argued, feeling misunderstood. "Dovie and I grew up together; what other relationship could there be?"

No matter how Jude explained, Celia didn't believe him. His original intention was to convey that they were childhood friends and that it was normal for friends to stay in touch. But these words only made Celia angrier. "I knew your relationship wasn't normal. Are you regretting not marrying Dovie back then and marrying me instead? Jude, you have no conscience."

The more Celia spoke, the more aggrieved and emotional she became, poking Jude's chest with her fingers.

Jude hurriedly explained, "It's not like that."

When a woman is angry, it's hard to appease her.
Jude also put Dovie's calls out of his mind and focused on comforting Celia.
Unable to reach Jude, Dovie had no choice but to drive to the hospital to find Old Abbott.

Meanwhile, Natalie, worried about Niamh, also hurried to find help.
Natalie went to Rose Garden to find Ophelia. For the sake of her daughter, she had no choice but to plead with Ophelia. 'If anyone could make Finnegan spare Niamh, it would be Ophelia.' She thought.

Ophelia was immersed in the tragic event of Seraphina's wrongful death, deeply blaming herself. 'If I hadn't been so ruthless, would Seraphina still be alive?'
'If I had been more understanding and communicated better with Seraphina, she wouldn't have taken the path of no return.' Ophelia thought.
There was a knock on the door. Lina knocked from outside. "Ophelia, Ms. Natalie is downstairs, saying she wants to see you."

Natalie? A glimmer of light appeared in Ophelia's previously lifeless eyes. In the past, she wouldn't have seen Natalie, but knowing that Natalie was her biological mother, she decided to go downstairs.

In the living room downstairs, Natalie was pacing anxiously. Hearing footsteps from the staircase, she immediately looked up.
"Ophelia." Natalie smiled warmly, a stark contrast to her usual aloof and arrogant demeanor.

Ophelia walked over expressionlessly. "Natalie, I heard that you wanted to see me."

Natalie warmly took Ophelia's hand. "Ophelia, you don't look well. Are you sick?" The sudden concern made Ophelia feel a bit uncomfortable. Ophelia withdrew her hand and said calmly, "Natalie, just say what you want."

Natalie, anxious, didn't waste any more words. She said, "Niamh is missing. She left the police station and didn't come home. We can't reach her. Can you call Finnegan and ask if he took her?"

"So, you're here for Niamh." Ophelia sat down, neither sad nor happy, neither hurried nor slow. "Why should I help? And why do you assume Finnegan took Niamh? Why would Finnegan take Parks Corporation's heiress?"

Natalie was infuriated by Ophelia's attitude. Such a tough stance left her unsure of how to get Ophelia to agree to help.
Gritting her teeth, Natalie said, "Ophelia. Seraphina poisoned Old Abbott, and your Abbott family suspects Niamh was involved. Seraphina is dead, and Niamh went missing after leaving the police station. Who else could it be but the Abbott family? We've been family friends for years; there's no need to strain our relationship. We can negotiate everything."

Ophelia looked at Natalie coldly. "Natalie, you don't seem like you're here to negotiate."

Natalie was so angry that she could have ground her teeth to dust.
Ophelia wasn't buying her story.
Natalie glanced at Ophelia's belly and said, "Ophelia, you're going to be a mother soon. Do it for the sake of the child you're carrying."
Before she could finish, Ophelia glared at her. "Natalie, I haven't done anything wrong. Why should I help you for the sake of my child? On the contrary, Natalie, can your conscience be clear as you don't even care about your daughter?"
After boss's baby, she Escape
