Chapter 673 Welcome Home

Tate stood in front of Aria's tombstone, the sea breeze cutting into her face.

Raymond waited nearby. Tate had just five days for a family visit, and regulations required a police officer to watch her. Raymond was assigned to her.

But it was just a formality. Tate wasn't planning to run. She was there to pay her respects to Aria and Ophelia.

Ophelia was buried in another cemetery. After visiting Aria, Tate walked over to Raymond. "Raymond, I want to visit Ophelia's grave."

"Sure," Raymond said, holding an umbrella as a light drizzle started, making the weather even gloomier. They headed to the parking lot.

"Ophelia's body was never found," Raymond said. "Her dad put up a tomb for her. Finnegan's become a monk and hasn't been back for six months."

"How's Warmie?" Tate asked, still worried about the girl she had given a priceless necklace to.

"She's doing great, still quirky and adorable," Raymond replied. "I saw her at the mall with Mom not long ago. Caspian was taking her to the amusement park. With Finnegan gone, Caspian's stepped in as a father figure."

Hearing Caspian's name, Tate remembered how he had tried to visit her more than ten times during her nearly year-long imprisonment, but she had refused every time.

They reached the parking lot, got in the car, and headed to Ophelia's grave. The two cemeteries were close, so it only took half an hour.

When Tate got to Ophelia's grave, she saw Caspian there too.

Caspian had come on a whim to visit Ophelia for Finnegan. When he heard footsteps and saw Tate, he was stunned, thinking he was seeing a ghost.

Caspian stood there, speechless.

Tate walked over and placed a bouquet in front of Ophelia's tombstone. Only then did Caspian snap out of it. "Tate, it's really you. You've lost so much weight."

It had been almost a year since they last saw each other. Tate was much thinner and seemed softer, though she still didn't talk much and wasn't as cold as before.

Tate glanced at Caspian, then looked at Ophelia's photo on the tombstone, feeling like their casino adventure in country M was just yesterday.

Caspian didn't disturb her mourning. After offering flowers and talking to the tombstone for a bit, Tate was about to leave when Caspian spoke up, "Tate, do you really not want to see me? You won't even say hello?"

Tate's indifference hurt Caspian deeply.

Tate paused. "I told you, don't waste your time on me."

"I've given my heart to you, and I can't take it back," Caspian said earnestly. "Tate, I'm serious."

Tate looked at Caspian's earnest expression and hesitated. "Being serious doesn't guarantee a response."

With that, Tate followed Raymond away. Caspian stood there, watching her leave, unable to understand why Tate disliked him so much.

In his eyes, Tate wasn't like this when she had amnesia.

In the car, Raymond noticed Tate seemed distracted. "Mom and Dad know you're coming home today. They've been getting ready for a while. How about we head back to the Stewart family estate?"

Tate replied quietly. She knew she'd have to go back to the home she left over twenty years ago.

She didn't remember much about that place anymore.

At the Stewart family estate, Barbara and Eugene had decorated the yard with flowers and even rolled out a red carpet to welcome Tate, showing how much they cared.

Barbara had woken Karen up early to help and told her not to go anywhere today.

Knowing her sister Sandra was coming home, Karen was curious about what she was like now after being gone for so many years. Karen imagined Sandra might have been sold to some remote area and now looked dark-skinned and rustic, like a country bumpkin.

That's how it always went in those novels, where the rich heiress got sold off and her life was ruined.

Thinking about it, Karen felt a bit excited.

After boss's baby, she Escape
