Chapter 766 The Walking Dead
Most kids knew that graves meant the people buried there were dead.
Warmie’s big, innocent eyes were wide open as she looked at Finnegan, waiting for an answer.
Anyone would feel heartbroken seeing her like that.
Finnegan struggled to sit up, leaning against the tombstone, unsure how to explain to Warmie.
Warmie looked at Caspian. "Who's buried here?"
Caspian didn’t know what to say, so he glanced at Finnegan in silence.
Warmie then looked at Tate, hoping for an answer.
But no one was willing to tell her the harsh truth.
Just when everyone was at a loss, Warmie touched the tombstone and softly asked, "Is Mommy here?"
Her words shocked them all.
'How did she know? Could it be a mother-daughter connection?' they wondered.
Seeing everyone silent, Warmie suddenly burst into tears. "Mommy, it's Mommy, I want Mommy."
She cried her heart out, and Finnegan held her. They both cried together in each other's embrace.
"Daddy, I want Mommy," Warmie sobbed.
Everyone felt heartbroken listening to her.
Warmie cried for a long time, and only with Finnegan's comforting did she stop.
Finnegan asked Caspian to take Warmie back. It wasn’t good for her to stay here. Caspian reached out to her. "Warmie, come back with me."
"No," Warmie clung to Finnegan. "I want Daddy."
Without her mom, only Finnegan made her feel safe.
Caspian suggested, "Finnegan, why don't you come back with us? You can't let Warmie stay here all the time. Ophelia would be sad if she knew."
Caspian and Tate wanted Warmie to bring Finnegan back.
Finnegan had vomited blood twice last night and had been in the rain all night. He looked very sick, and if he didn't go back, something bad might happen.
Finnegan looked at Warmie, then at Ophelia's grave. Caspian's words hit him; he needed to take care of Warmie for Ophelia's sake.
Finnegan finally nodded and prepared to pick up Warmie. As he stood up, he felt dizzy and his vision went black.
"Finnegan!"
Caspian and Tate quickly reacted, one supporting Finnegan and the other catching Warmie.
Finnegan passed out, and when Caspian touched his forehead, he realized that it was burning hot. "Tate, I'll take Finnegan to the hospital."
Warmie was scared and cried, "Daddy!"
"Warmie, don't cry. Your dad is just sick," Tate comforted her. "We'll take him to the hospital, and the doctors will treat him. Caspian, hurry, take him to the hospital."
Caspian carried Finnegan to the car, feeling a pang of sadness. He hadn’t expected Finnegan to be so light. Since Ophelia’s accident last year, Finnegan had lost a lot of weight.
Even though Lily had pretended to be Ophelia to comfort him, their recent conflicts had taken a toll on him, causing his health to deteriorate and his weight to drop drastically.
For a 6'1" adult, weighing less than 165 pounds was extremely thin.
Caspian took him to the hospital. With a high fever and having not eaten for a day and a night, Finnegan was in a weakened state.
The doctors immediately began treating him, and after he collapsed, he seemed completely drained, like a lifeless doll.
His eyes were vacant, and he was lost in his own world, shutting out everything around him.
Celia, upon learning that Finnegan was hospitalized, rushed to the hospital to take care of him. Warmie was taken back to the hotel first, where Lynn helped look after her.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Lily hadn’t heard any news about Finnegan for a day and a night, nor had she seen anyone from the Abbott family. She felt particularly uneasy.
