Chapter 530 Different Feelings

Tate sneered coldly. She was always aware of someone behind her, but never expected it to be the person she cared most about. Because of her, Aria's hands were stained with blood.

Tate lowered her gaze, then looked up at Aria after a while. "Where is Finnegan?"

"I don't know," Aria said. "After I fired a shot, the car started leaking oil. I fired another shot to fix it, and the car exploded. But during the explosion, Finnegan and Atticus both jumped out of the car and then I left."

"Did the master instruct you to do this? Why?" Tate had many doubts. "You never missed when you acted, yet you didn't confirm if Finnegan was dead?"

Aria shook her head and said, "The master didn't want Finnegan dead. He just wanted to teach him a lesson."

"A lesson?" Tate was even more puzzled. "Did Finnegan offend the master?"

"I don't know," Aria said. "We are to follow orders without question."

"You are truly the master's sharp blade," Tate self-mockingly said, walking toward the riverbank.

"Tate, if you want to leave Moonlight Gate, I can help you," Aria suddenly said. "I will help you achieve everything you desire."

For Aria, Tate was the most important person. She was even willing to sacrifice her life for Tate. For ten years, she had been like a shadow to Tate, completely merging with her.

Today, she defied the master's orders and appeared in front of Tate.

Tate looked back at Aria, the wind tousling her hair. She couldn't see her clearly.

"Why?"

Aria walked toward Tate and embraced her. "You are me, and I am you. I want you to be happy, Tate. We are all controlled by the master. Even if you confess, the master will silence you. We are all the master's experiments. Without the antidote, we won't live long. I know the master has the ultimate antidote. After taking it, everything will be fine. I will get it for you and help you completely break free from Moonlight Gate."

Tate was stunned. Aria reached out and touched her face, her eyes showing reluctance and a different kind of emotion.

Tate, feeling scared, took two steps back.

It was Tate's actions that dimmed Aria's eyes, inadvertently hurting Aria's heart.

Aria withdrew her hand and said, "Tate, you must stay alive. Before leaving Moonlight Gate, don't reveal your thoughts. If there's something you don't want to do, don't worry; I'll do it for you."

Leaving these words behind, Aria got into the car and drove away.

Tate stood by the riverbank, recalling every mission of the past ten years. If it weren't for Aria, she wouldn't know how many times she would have died.

Tate knew Deacon must be dead. She didn't kill him but Aria did. Otherwise, Aria wouldn't be here.

Although she and Aria weren't biological sisters, she knew that if danger arose, Aria would sacrifice herself for her.

Tate stayed by the riverbank for a while before returning. She acted as if she had never seen Aria and didn't know if Aria was still alive.

As soon as Tate stepped into the living room, she was attacked. Feeling a sharp pain in her foot, she knelt heavily on the ground.

Moonlight Gate's people surrounded her on both sides. Looking up, she saw Lloyd sitting on the sofa.

Tate cried out in pain, "Master."

Lloyd took a puff of his cigar and said, "Tate, your performance tonight disappointed me greatly."

"I'm sorry, Master. I made a mistake." Tate lowered her head, recalling Aria's words, and said, "Please give me another chance, Master."

As the words fell, Lloyd placed a bottle of medicine on the table, the same medicine Tate had given to Anthony.

Seeing the bottle, Tate's face turned pale. She realized how foolish she had been. She was raised by Lloyd and couldn't outwit him in cunning.

"Reflect well at headquarters." Lloyd casually waved his hand. The next moment, Tate was knocked unconscious and taken away.

Deacon was dead. The police station was brightly lit that night, bustling with activity.

Landon was also very frustrated since Deacon held too many clues and was of great value.

The next day, Ophelia learned of Deacon's death, only briefly surprised, as if she had known it would happen.

Ophelia didn't know why it happened, but when Deacon refused to reveal Finnegan's whereabouts, she realized Deacon would be silenced.

Atticus had said that when a car overturned Deacon's car and shot at him, the first attempt failed, and there would definitely be a second attempt.
